New Orleans Saints 25 @ San Francisco 49ers 22: Prediction Results and Voting
Everyone's predictions from last week have finally been tallied, analyzed and formatted accordingly. They can be found in their entirety following the jump.
I am happy to report that on the whole, these predictions from the 49ers game are significantly better than the week prior. In fact, you would have needed to get all three of your guesses correct this time around to even get your name on the ballot. As you can see, we have four people do just that.
Just a couple of reminder notes for future reference. Don't forget to be as accurate as possible with your predictions. If you say that Drew Brees will pass for 250 yards, that means you think that Drew will pass for EXACTLY 250 yards - not 249 or 251 - even though you really probably mean that he will pass for AT LEAST 250 yards. I try with the best of my ability to never attempt to determine intent. Adding qualifiers and/or detailed instructions like the following are also very helpful:
Two of our RB’s (including FB’s)
Three different Saints receivers record touchdowns. (Note: This means "catch and score" not "has WR as their listed position.")
Hartley goes 100% on the night (both FG and conversion)
And don't forget that your prediction has to be something that can be easily measured or quantifiable. Predicting that a player will have a "break out game" is completely subjective.
Anyway, look over the results then go ahead and cast your vote for the best predictor. The poll will be open until Saturday morning at 6am.

If anyone doesn't vote for chicago cajun
…they need their head examined. When was the last time someone accurately called a safety?
It was worth the wait.
Not only that
But his other 2 predictions weren’t exactly sure things. Good call, chicago cajun!
Just to let you know chicago cajun is a woman. I know unless you saw this thread http://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2010/9/14/1688282/write-in-campaign you most likely wouldn’t have known as her username isn’t gender specific like mine is. Just wanted to let ya know.

Think I mentioned
In the open game thread that whomever predicted the safety should win this week.

I sorry ME, but
being one of the four that did make the list, I just have to be the one WHO DAT don’t vote for CC. ~(;<})
Looks like she got the closest on the score too.

Not to boast
But I predicted the saints would force the safety. Not that the saints realy forced it.
Intimidation caused the high snap. David Baas had never been assigned a DT as physically dominating as Remi Ayodele before.

I am doing pretty……crappy. Congrats Chicago Cajun, you got my vote.
Week 3 matchup: Falcons
Week 3 motto: Score
I just missed being on the ballot too
Darn you Drew Brees and your 108.9 QB Rating! He had over 110 before the final amazing drive he put together, but having to spike the ball dropped it below 110 and kept me off the ballot. That’s what I get for being too bold.
I’d also like to point out that mississippisaintsfan said there was no way my Vernon Davis prediction was coming true, which it did. Its like my own little grudge list accountability index!

“no way on VD they will put harper on him like they did Shianco and limit his play”
LMAO! That’s like dousing the forest with gasoline to prevent the fire from spreading.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
Good thing Harper helped limit Shiancoe’s play to 19 yds per reception and a TD, btw. I’d hate to think of what would have happened had he actually been productive.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
Shiancoe, or Davis? at 19 yds/rec.
Shianco finished with four catches for 76 yards, all in the first half.
And Harper covering Shianco was a half-time adjustment, right?
"I don't think we're the team with the target on our backs. They're not gunning for us, we're gunning for them. We're the ones with the scope." - Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis
Child, please. They weren’t playing man-to-man. It was Cover 2. Harper was involved in TE coverage throughout the game. What, are you saying he’s the answer to our TE coverage woes? That all two (count ‘em TWO) incompletions intended for Shiancoe in the second half were the result of Harper’s stellar play throughout and/or Williams’s moment of clarity? If so, then what happened against 49ers? Oh that right, it was back to the SOS. Gotta love those ever-so temporary adjustments. Almost as much as you have to love this textbook coverage:

You go, Roman. God, I wish all our DBs were athletically gifted enough to face guard like that.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
Late update:
"Roman right now is playing lights out for us," Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams said. "He really is. We kind of ask him also to step up from a leadership standpoint, because Darren’s (Sharper) not on the field. I’ve been real pleased with what I’ve seen him do and what he has helped Malcolm (Jenkins) do."
