"We will not try to stop Drew Brees, we will stop Drew Brees. We will not try ... we will move the ball and we will score. Alex (Smith) will be fine Monday night." |
Whistling past the graveyard bluster does not score points. Neither does scaring the ref with time out requests. |
He got 2 out of 3 unless he meant holding Brees to under 300 passing yards. So why didn't he guarantee a win?? |

Predicts a Bucs win at home over the Steelers in Week 3 |
I don't know where that came from. |
Steelers 38, Bucs 13. And it wasn't that close. Except in the 1st quarter. |

Carolina Panthers are not in steep decline in 2010 |
Carolina already in panic mode, and that was BEFORE the 0-3 Panters lost 20-7 at home to the Bungals, @Saints next. Does anyone now not agree with "steep decline"? Ask these guys. |

Prefers Wynn over TUSK! Implies Wynn is less injury prone than TUSK! |
Maybe if he's less fumble prone. |
||
|
Sep 24 |
Reggie: Lance Moore can do the same thing in the passing game. TUSK! will make Reggie obsolete. |
Looking good on the Lance part. Need more time on the TUSK! part. Time and Jesus1000 intervention. |

CP demands vindication for proposing LT2 as the Saints' RB2-3 based on his performance for the Jets. |
Rotoworld: The old man simply looks like the better option than the youngster right now. It's clear that we've underestimated how much injuries slowed LT the last two seasons, because now that he's healthy he looks terrific. This will be a committee, but Tomlinson is the clear leader right now. |

Hopes Clint Ingram will add stability at LB |
Rotoworld.com: He's eligible to return in Week 7, though the Saints won't be counting on Ingram after a slow recovery from what was initially characterized as a "small" microfracture procedure. He many not have much left upon return. |

Questions about Mike Martz's ability to improve Jay Cutler's performance |
Rotoworld.com: Jay Cutler completed 16-of-27 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown and one interception to lead the 3-0 Bears past the Packers in Week 3, 20-17. It was vintage Cutler, as he had two interceptions negated on Packers' penalties and made some throws even Brett Favre would question. Cutler's decision making was not enough to lose the game however, and he threw a beautiful 21-yard pass to Greg Olsen on the team's final drive to set up a Robbie Gould game winning 16-yard field goal with four seconds left. |

Sep 8 |
As for Matt Forte, you're going to say he's back to his rookie form based on a performance against the RAIDERS? |
Rotoworld.com: Matt Forte gained just 29 yards on 11 carries and had only 14 yards on two receptions against the Packers in Week 3. Forte had the same amount of running yardage as he did Week 2 on one more carry. He did look good running the ball early, but was never given a chance to establish a groove on the ground as the Bears had the ball on offense for just 24 minutes. He was targeted only twice in the passing game, and failed to punch the ball in on three straight goal-line carries. |

Objection to rotoworld opinion (Jenkins stays at corner) after Sharper's signing for 2010 |
Depends on Sharper making the team. I agree that Jenkins moves to S as soon as Sharper is off the roster. He's on PUP for 6 weeks. Week 7 resolves this: Cut, benched, or starting at FS. |

CP thinks PT and Reggie both gone in 2011 |
Outrageous at first, now looking prophetic. But as long as Payton is coach, Reggie's NFL career is with the Saints. |

The July 20th prediction about the run game
seems to be coming true. We haven’t collapsed though so that is good news but our run game is failing badly
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!
Ranked 32nd out of 32 teams is pretty darn bad in the run.
"I want the gas pedal down." Sean Payton
I'm a Saints fan--Hubby's a Bears fan.

Please round up all the Chicken Littles who were convinced that Adrian Arrington is “too good” to clear waivers and flog them unmercifully.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper

Are you going to add gothicpurple’s comments about Brees to this in your next update? He’s really running his mouth a lot this week…especially for a fan of a team that could be staring at a 1-6 record with their upcoming games, while we are looking very good for 6-1 going into the game with Pittsburgh.

He’s on the Do Not Read List.
And Daisy's married Tom the grocer boy,
And now he owns a grocery.

Wait a minute Stu
I think you are going too easy on yourself with your own entry on the list. You said:
Hartley is the Saints’ fat punk kicker for all of 2010.
To me, that implies starting, and not merely an active roster spot. And that was right after you said:
Neither Carney, nor Kris Brown, nor Garrett Lindholm can out kick Garrett Hartley In practice. It won’t happen.Come on Stu, that’s a prediction of Hartley keeping his starting job for every game.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
I'll amend it
My intention was that he would not be Mehlhaff’d. (cut) He’ll stay on the roster throughout the year but he’ll have to sit a game or two while Carney helps get his head straight.
Carney can’t outkick Hartley. But that doesn’t mean that Carney won’t start as kicker for a game or 2.
And Daisy's married Tom the grocer boy,
And now he owns a grocery.
Well hell, that’s what I said on the list. Implied. He WILL be the fat punk kicker for 2010. Carney will be the skinny old man coach kicker.
And he pointed out on the map all the places he had been.
Cowes, Sardinia, Kathmandu, the Scilly Isles and Sahara, too
I could partially accept that
But when you say
Garrett Hartley keeps his active roster spot with the Saints in 2010to me, that means staying active for every game. Not just active on the 53 man roster, but active on the 45 man game day roster. If FPK is declared a gameday inactive, then to me that would be a big red X on your prediction.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
pusillanimous pedantry
If that’s what it means to you, then I hope you feel very gratified. You are dismissed.
And he pointed out on the map all the places he had been.
Cowes, Sardinia, Kathmandu, the Scilly Isles and Sahara, too
seems like someone needs to put the Accountability Index
on an Accountability Index.
Just like the line from the awesome graphic novel by Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons…
Who watches the Watchmen?
Who Accounts for the Accountability Index?

Not helping.
And he pointed out on the map all the places he had been.
Cowes, Sardinia, Kathmandu, the Scilly Isles and Sahara, too
oh Stu
I wasn’t helping after Week One, and now I’m not helping again, after Week 3.
What’s wrong with me? I helped you name the Darn Thing, after all.
And Stu here’s my “nice guy” aspect kicking in. Just checking in here…That’s twice that you’ve said that to me, and I’m really just playing along, chuckling as I type these comments in the spirit of good will and levity. I hope that’s how they are being received on your end, because if they’re not received that way, I won’t continue them.
Are we good?
It's gonna be a great year.

No more mister "nice guy"!!!
I say we team up against that bully and break him. How about every reply sent his way contains at least one of the following: “Lito Sheppard”, “screwed up retirement plan” or any joke about diapers.
You go first….
Repeat? Under construction...
Don't forget
any comment with LSU!! LSU!!, Harry Coleman, and tell him that Leigh Torrence is a great cover guy.
