So we’re looking at, potentially, a rotation of Prioleau and Reis @ SS this week? Jesus1000….

Against the Panters’ run game.

I feel like a college kicker who just tried out for the NFL. Burn ’em.

At least the tackling should improve.

???

Harper is a horrendous tackler. Young is below average. Prioleau and Reis weren’t hand selected to cover kicks based on their pretty smiles.

So why aren’t Prioleau or Reis the starters?

If they are superior tacklers, then their coverage skills must be dramatically worse. Awaiting your next criticism. With bated breath. I had Polish sausage for breakfast.

Reis’s coverage skills are dramatically worse than Jenkins and Sharper. Probably not much worse tha Young. He’s too light in the a** to play SS.

Prioleau is well-rounded enough to play multiple positions. Not wanting to shuffle the starting lineup if an injury occurred may have something to do with why he isn’t starting at SS. Harper’s age and salary definitely do.

Money. Same reason Bush still starts. Payton has to justify the picks somehow.

And I’m only talking about Harper. Young doesn’t start either.

Usama Young … 1 sack, 1 key stop for a loss behind the line of scrimmage in the final drive. As predicted, tackling improved without Harper in the lineup.

It’s not looking too good that this will be the week we establish a run offense.

so every rb we had has been injured?

Hopefully Batts can take up some of the slack.

and Ivory is not on the injujry report. Is Wynn still on the practice squad?

Yes DeShawn Wynn is on the Saints' practice squad...

…and he will most likely be moved up to the active roster this weekend if Pierre Thomas can’t play.

I just wonder why Betts didn’t even play one single snap last Sunday even though he was active, dressed and sitting on the bench the whole game.

I’m worried about our running game, which was already not clicking on all cylinders to begin with through the first 3 games of this season, potentially having to rely on the #3, #4 & #5 (Ivory, Betts and Wynn) running backs if #1 and #2 (Thomas and Bush) are both out this weekend and possibly beyond that…

The biggest concern becomes Drew Brees playing with a hurt knee and wearing a brace on his leg for the first time in his professional career. Obviously, with an unproven running game up to this point and with Sean Payton’s tendencies to pass first, both early and often, to open up the running game later in the game, we are going to be asking an awful lot out of our quarterback in this matchup with a strong running team and our defense still struggling to stop the run.

Oh, and by the way, Roman Harper might not be able to play this weekend at SS. His immediate backups are presumably Pierson Prioleau and Chris Reis at this point.

He was in for at least 3 or 4 plays, from what I remember.
