It looks like the saints should've waited to draft a DT from LSU

I counted the same

25 offense, 24 defense, 3 special teams

Hargrove is starting LDE?

Thats kinda surprising. Figured Brown would be the end while Hargrove was a DT.

I think Brown is the starting DE

Hargrove rotates between DT and DE. I think Wilkerson should be listed at DE too. So that pretty much makes it policy that Ellis and Ayodele are not allowed to take plays off…ever…for any reason.

Wow think about it?

Colston, Henderson, Meachum and Arrington Split wide. Thats a serious deal for a defender to cover. Brees will have close to a 5k year.

In a pinch Strief can as well.

I'm guessing Arrington is trade bait

Considering the lack of depth at certain positions that Payton has always kept deep, and the fact that he’s never carried 6 WRs, I’m guessing he and Loomis think they can get a decent trade for LB or DT for Adrian.

No?

Chase Daniel over Leinhart? Really?

Child, please….

Repeat? Under construction...

by FrenchFreak on Sep 4, 2010 11:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Yes. In spades.

In raw talent, Leinart is probably better. In but in four other areas, Chase blows him away:

1) heart
2) effort
3) humility
4) experience in the system

by FriarBob on Sep 4, 2010 11:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Probably???

Repeat? Under construction...

by FrenchFreak on Sep 5, 2010 12:26 AM CDT up reply actions

Yes, probably. He only started in college because his coach wasn’t sure who was better between him and Cassel. They practically flipped a coin and he got lucky and rode Reggie’s coattails to college-football fame. Cassel instead languished in obscurity until Tom Brady gets hurt and he gets his chance to prove Pete wrong. Which he did. In spades.

This is the NFL, not college. He probably still has more raw talent. But only probably. And right now, whatever talent he does have is completely worthless to us. He has no heart. He has no leadership ability. He has no humility. He has no drive, no willpower, no desire, and no experience in our system. At best he’s a 4th QB for us right now. At worst he’s not even worthy of signing at all. I’d be more comfortable with Lance Moore than Leinart behind center for us.

by FriarBob on Sep 5, 2010 1:08 AM CDT up reply actions   1 recs

Oh and he wants to start. Because right now he’s too stuck in entitlement mode to realize with his current degree of suckiness he almost isn’t even worth starting on a college team.

by FriarBob on Sep 5, 2010 1:10 AM CDT up reply actions

thanks for getting my back, Bob.

-

Leinart has proven that he sucks. There is no question about that.

Daniel hasn’t proven anything either way…. but there’s a chance he could be decent enough to carry a loaded team to an 11-5 record… like Cassell did a few years ago.

Leinart had virtually the same team that Warner took to the Super Bowl (including two, top 10 WR’s), and what did he do with it?

Moore is more

Lance is a lot more polished that AA, and the best slot receiver the Saints have (except when Colston lines up in the slot). I’d hate to see them trade him. Arrington is good enough to be a #3 or #4 WR on most teams, and maybe even a #2 on a few teams. He has good trade value, and might not even need to be combined with a mid to late draft pick to get what they need.

You are correct sir.

We don’t have the right makeup of personell to run a 3-4 full time…

If we can’t field 3 top level LB’s, and we’re complaining about our pass rush with four D-lineman, then fielding 1 probowl LB + 3 non-top level LB’s and only 3 lineman (not one of which commands a double-team) will not help our situation.

by FriarBob on Sep 5, 2010 1:11 AM CDT reply actions

Really, being constantly surprised is a bad sign

Arrington could potentially do what Henderson does, and Devry is proven NFL value you could get a linebacker for. Throw in one of our LB and a draft pick or two and get somebody really good. Might not work out as well as you would hope, but there are no garaunteed solutions. The wide receiver they cut looks pretty good to me, and he is unlikely to be picked up elsewhere as an unknown. Or trade Moore, Bush can do quite well in the slot. It should be interesting to see what they really do, after all our brillaint suggestions.
