Chris Ivory has MCL Injury; Could Miss Three Weeks
Get use to seeing DeShawn Wynn. Amid all of today's roster-cutting hoopla, it was announced by Larry Holder via Twitter that Chris Ivory has an MCL injury and could possibly miss three weeks.
RB Chris Ivory could miss 3 weeks with an MCL injury in his knee, according to a league source.
Does it feel like the Saints are just falling apart? I guess three weeks is decent news and certainly better than the entire season.
And the beat goes on...

Calm down Dave, breath in…and out. Feel better?

Get used to it....
I love what Ivory did in the preseason but the kid is constantly injured from Washington and Stillman. Every running back we have on the roster has a history of injuries….except Wynn who hasnt played much
I see RB musical chairs coming…can we just get Bell back?….

Relax Dave
Last I checked we won a SuperBowl and 13 games without big contributions from Casillas or Ivory…
You are wrong sir!
Without Casillas, Ambush probably fails in the Super Bowl and we probably lose. I know it was just one play but its one play I cant live without!
What in the HELL just happened!?
good point
every team is having the same problems, some much more like, we have not lost our No 1 receiver, our QB does not have to sit out 4 games due to criminal charges resulting in a suspension for conduct detrimental to the leagues image, Brees is not a grandfather, we use a running back by committee anyhow and our top two guys are fine (some teams only have one), and the Gris Gris Man has some new tricks up his sleeve this year that are going to be very good for us. And, when they call me about picking up my SB Ring…I’m gonna put it in the bottom of my spell pot and not take it out all year! And I got that going for me, which is nice!

Now this Ivory injury I can live with.
Him or Wynn would probably have been inactive on game day anyway so as long as everybody else can last 3-4 weeks we will be fine.
What in the HELL just happened!?
let's get our injuries out of the way now
and not have any during the season…
It's gonna be a great year.
Joique Bell was cut by Buffalo
Worth taking a look.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
Just looked up the stats
Joique rushed for 152 yards and 2 TDs on 27 attempts during preseason. That’s a 5.6 YPC. His longest gain was a 28-yard touchdown…which means that even if you discount that, the rest of his carries gave him a 4.7 average.
I think maybe Buffalo has been pathetic for so long because they keep doing things like this. Come on, PayLoo, give his agent a call.
It was worth the wait.
This is not at all serious
Ivory’s job is/was to be a clock eater, first down gainer at the end of games. Remember Pierre missed a couple games at the beginning of the season last year, and Bell stepped up to get it done. I’m pretty confident Reggie and Pierre can hold down the fort until Ivory gets back. This is no biggie.
I was just coming to post that exact same thing. This is like having Pierre instead of Mike Bell. Isn’t that…good?
It was worth the wait.
Ivory’s job is/was to be a clock eater, first down gainer at the end of games.
If I remember correctly, the Saints inability to do just that was the reason for a couple of losing efforts in 2007/2008.

Well if it makes you feel better,
There was a 2009 season in between 2008 and today. And our secondary is MUCH better today than in 2008, HWSNBN isn’t here for one.
Week 1 matchup: Vikings
Week 1 motto: Win Again
2008 opponents yards per rushing attempt: 4.2
2008 opponents yards per passing attempt: 7.0
2009 opponents yards per rushing attempt: 4.5
2009 opponents yards per passing attempt: 6.9
MUCH better, eh? The only real difference last year was turnovers and the 2010 team hasn’t forced one of those yet.

Overall for the entire year? Fine. But for the parts when we didn’t have half our defense out with injury, however, the tale is much different. For the first six games (weeks 1-7, including the Miami game) we were under 4 YPC. Until we lost our CBs, there was only one game where we blipped above 6.25 YPA, and we came right back down and stayed back under 6.25 even without both Greer AND Porter all the way to week 12!
But, But, But, But… what if we have that many injuries again this year? Yeah, well what if aliens land from Mars tomorrow and blow up the Superdome?!?! Both are about equally as likely.
And until it does happen, you can’t assume it will. Because right now we are equally as likely to suffer as many defensive injuries as we are to not suffer any at all. 50/50. As in we have no clue.
only a couple?
you’re underestimating our short-yardage failures – it cost us Washington and Denver in 2008 alone
It's gonna be a great year.
Martin Grammatica
blew more games than an Payton’s insistence on calling on Reggie to run up the middle behind an inexperienced line on 3rd/4th and short. Yeah, those calls still stick in my craw too, but there was a lot more to going 8-8 the previous year than the quality of the Saints RBs. Remember David, Young, and Bullocks in the secondary for a big hunk of the year?
Up the middle?
Wasnt it usually some kind of reverse? Those were the calls that pissed me off!
What in the HELL just happened!?
I got a name for you.
Ryan Torain, Washington cut him today. Big back 6’1" 218 lbs. Shanahan brought him in from Denver but was a victim of numbers. Shanahan knows rbs and if thought enough of him to bring him in from Denver, he has to be at least 3rd rb worthy.
What in the HELL just happened!?

Redskins waived RB Ryan Torain.
Torain will end up on the Redskins’ practice squad if he goes unclaimed. Nobody has been higher on him than Mike Shanahan, so he’ll likely clear waivers.
Ain’t it hard when you discover that he really wasn’t where it’s at
After he took from you everything he could steal, how does it feel?
RB depth
Write me off as a Gator fan if you will, but I think you will end up being glad you have Wynn. Ivory still has a lot of rookie to work through.

I agree. I have a feeling Ivory’s going to wind up being an afterthought this season. As long as Wynn is healthy, on the roster and contributing, Ivory won’t crack the active roster.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
Right place,right time for Wynn
sux for Ivory, impressed in the pre-s. MCL 3 wks no surgery, might be longer if Wynn plays well, like the fact Wynn’s got 16 gms. under his belt, don’t know his fumble stats though. But I’m w/ CP above could be a while before Ivory plays. Funny thing, Skins cut Willie Parker, I’d like him for song and a dance. $?
You think you know, and you don't know, and you never, ever will.-Jim Mora Sr.
We in no way, shape or form should pick up Willie Parker. He hasn’t been a good back since the season after Bettis left, he got cut over Larry Johnson and Clinton Portis, two backs who also haven’t been very good since the season after Jerome Bettis retired. Also, even when he was good, his playing style was similar to Reggie’s. There’s no reason to spend money on someone who won’t be used much.
"Here's the funny thing. Last night, I couldn't sleep too well. I called my dad (Bill) at 2:15 in the morning, and told him I had a feeling I was going to hit the game-winner from 42 yards on the right hash. I think I was two yards off."- Garrett Hartley
Draft a powerback eventually.
Man we need to really draft a real powerback i really hate we didnt get beanie wells. But the past is the past we gotta start drafting runningbacks that are somewhat healthy during college and can be the stud we need on third and short or goal line. I really like pt and rb but we need a big back that can punish other teams dl in the middle. We need three threats at runningback not just two guys that are very elusive and can catch out of the backfield.
