Aw, don't give him too much grief...
“You’re doing a heck of a job there, Danny!” (See what I did there?)
"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!! Brian Milne might've fallen on it at the ten yard line! It's the New Orleans Saints' football! Brian Milne, the most unlikely hero of them all, falls on the fumble, the muff by Hakim! There is a God after all!" -- Jim Henderson

And of course...
Someone on Gawker already made that joke. Knew it was too good to be true.

Everyone
me included, needs to stop being so almost-professionally sensitive, and looking for insults where none were intended.
Yeah, on the one hand this was like making Hiroshima jokes. “The Hanshin Tigers hit Hiroshima like Little Boy har har har!” Tactless. But on the other hand, only tactless. Hampton didn’t mean he wished to see New Orleans damaged, and he didn’t mean to make light of the suffering that occurred. He just made an analogy; an unfortunately colorful way of saying the Vikings, in order to redeem their reputation, need to do some ruthless ass-kicking. And in that, he’s right. If the Vikings don’t tear the Saints a new one Thursday, no one in the league will respect them.
It was worth the wait.
was like making Hiroshima jokes. "The Hanshin Tigers hit Hiroshima like Little Boy har har har!"
or “blazed thru Atlanta like Sherman.”
you know, when you want something, and nobody can stop you from taking it, you just take it, right? I like that, but can you take it?
Or
“Jump on them like a bum on a bologna sandwich”
"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG
Granted, it's just an analogy,
but it’s a piss-poor analogy that someone with an ounce of common sense would likely not make!

On behalf of the Vikings community
So sorry for an inappropriate, rude comment. No one at DN thinks it was funny or appropriate.
Possibly,
but as we all know, that’s his problem!

I lived in Chalmette...
When Katrina hit I stayed in a shelter in Gonzalez for 10 days and slept in a tent with my 2 sons and Mom. I lost 2 very good friends who died because of the storm, as well as nearly everything I owned. I lived in a FEMA trailer for 4 months after the storm. I was one of the “lucky” ones. His comment offended me, but I’ve heard worse and I doubt anything will come of it..
