Lets Play Some Football!!!!

Preseason is over finally!  Just 3 more days till the opening season kicks off!  It's been quite a long off season and looking forward to the 2010 season.  The question is: are we prepared Thursday night? We all know the Vikings will gunning hard for us.

And I'm hoping our defense can stop the run. With Jonathan Vilma and Darren Sharper out, I'm a little concerned.  Hopefully the next guys can step up and make some good playsPerhaps, can Malcolm Jenkins become the hero in the safety position?  We don't know how well he will do in his first game replacing sharper, but hopefully he will step up and make plays for us.

The good news is, our offense looks loaded as always. Our receivers look healthy and in full force.  It's great to see Reggie Bush 100% healthy again. Look forward to seeing PT Cruiser again.  Glad to see Heath Evans back.

So what should our key focus be on Thursday night's opener?

Stopping the run, and hopefully will be able stop the run.

Not give up the huge play.

3rd down efficiency will be a key stat...on both sides of the ball. We must keep the chains moving and throw deep downfield.

And most importantly, no stupid penalties, especially holding/false start.  Penalties will hurt you big time!

Now....Let's Play Ball!!!!!!!!!!!

And don’t let our guard down at any time. Protect the ball is one I left out earlier.

I think that Vilma is expected to play

I’m a little worried about Jenkins now. He hasn’t seemed to want to hit ppl from the little bit i’ve seen him. I mean he’s there, helping with the tackle but he hasn’t really popped anyone yet.

Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

That's a good thing!

If Vilma’s expected to play. I hope Jenkins can shine Thursday night.

on your toes Jenkins, don't bite on play-action

Frett Barve @ 40 can still ball fake like-a-mofo. Careful #27 they know your back there.

You think you know, and you don't know, and you never, ever will.-Jim Mora Sr.

Yes they do!

And they will test him! Don’t let your guard down Malcolm and don’t give up huge plays!

Jenkins stated that he is sure that Favre will be gunning for him. He knows that he is playing a new position but Favre said that sometimes that might be a good thing. He is as good as Sharper without the drama or the need to take the added risk for the int. Well we all know how that worked out for us last year, so I hope that Jenkins will be able to take some initiative and go for the ball

This is a good opportunity for Jenkins to perform under pressure.

Vilma is back practicing

and hopefully will be on the field Thursday night. I think we’ll need him!

Hit Brett...

….early and often. Now don’t get stupid penalties but let #4 know that no matter how much his head coach whines, Williams and the Saint’s defense aren’t letting up. And no turnovers, this team can win if we don’t beat ourselves.

I totally agree. And, the Vikings are playing with a lot more starters healthy. I think with backups, our defense will do what it does best: big plays when it counts. As far as the offense, front line is solid, receivers all back and healthy. My season record stands as last yr, 10-6. Thursday night game prediction: Saints 37 Vikings 24 WHO DAT!!
