We gotta
get a real good stop coming out of halftime and get down the field and score. I think the penalties on offense have been hurting us on some of those drives.

Time to tackle

Carl Nicks, Jr. (born May 14, 19851 in San Francisco, California) is an American football offensive guard who was a 5th round selection (164th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League. In his rookie season he replaced Jamar Nesbit in the starting lineup after Nesbit violated the league substance abuse policy. His play exceeded expectations and Nicks has still yet to lose the starting left guard position. 2. Here's My Facebook Status:
Brett Favre played worse as the game progressed and the Saints found a way to hit the Vikings in the mouth and earn the hard-fought 14-9 win. New Orleans managed to pull out the win in a way I didn’t expect. The Saints have staying power and are desirous to repeat. We’ll see what happens but this is a game true football fans could enjoy. Rock em sock em robots all night long! If you want to friend me, I’m Brad James. I love my Broncos more than anyone else but I find I like the New Orleans Saints more and more each time I watch them. thanks for doing us a solid, Vikes had the game played exactly how they wanted; smash mouth and low scoring and still lost. Offense will be fine, Hartley is a concern. I know that’s blasphemy but I’m always honest
Kickers are only as good as their last kick. No one had problems with him the last 2 games of 2009. I am sure he will get a good talking to, dust that rust off and get back to work.
Breesus Is My Homeboy
The whole team needs to dust the rust off. Noone was exceptional tonight.

Chris Gates is such a pompous dude
He’s proclaiming that their D is so good because they held a team that scores 30 pts a game to 14 pts.
How bout our guys not dropping passes? If they actually caught some balls then we would have ran away with the game
This is true, although to play devil's advocate
They were covered, most of the receivers were trying to catch a ball while being hit.
Week 1 matchup: Vikings
Week 1 motto: Win Again
In the same respectative, we have the number 20th defense and we held
the number 2 offense to only 9 points
So what does that mean about our D?
I wouldn't disagree by stealing it either though, you know...
we got the black masks on... we got to get out of here. Hopefully
the police don't catch us on the way out.---Roman Harper
They managed one sack all night, Jared Allen got manhandled by Jermon Bushrod, and once they got tired Pierre Thomas could run wherever he wanted. They are good, but if their offense doesn’t put up more than two good drives a game they aren’t going to be very good this year.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''

there was no questionable hit calls, we played straight up and there are going to be
some fans out there that will claim there are the better team. We did win right.
their D was nice, but their many balls that were dropped that our sure-handed receievers would have usually held on to
Does Colston usually drop 1-2 passes? Does Moore usually drop 2-3 passes? Does Meachem usually drop 1-2 passes? Henderson, well, I can understand

It happens in ever single game. Missed calls for both teams. Just depends on the glasses you wear.
I think we could have played better. Some of the play calling wasn’t great. Its the first game. The vikings are no detriot. Although I did say it would be a high scoring game, in the back of my head I thought it would be like a 6-3 game.
Ready for minds to explode? Who seemed to be the quietest of the Vikings secondary? Lito Shepard.
Week 1 matchup: Vikings
Week 1 motto: Win Again
If we could have probably gotten another score at the end if we did not run off the last two minutes
maybe
Well in fairness....
It “should” have been 24-9…..Hartley should have hit his first one, and Meachem probably should have caught that TD. At the very least, it should have been 20-9, with both FGs made. For a first game, I’ll take that. We need to improve, but the offense didn’t look terrible….the second TD drive was a vintage drive of 2009.

This is what Gates has to say
The almighty Saints
Lined up with all their "great" receivers and their "great" quarterback and their "great" offensive line against a team that fielded three healthy CBs, was playing a safety at corner in a lot of their sub packages. . .
And managed a blistering 14 points.
That’s probably the best offense we’re going to see all year, despite what all the media members that are part of the ever-growing Green Bay circle jerk are going to tell you. . .and we went in incredibly short-handed, and that team managed two whole touchdowns.
I’m not worried about the rest of the year.
How many did the Vikings get Gates?
(sigh) great news! we are done with him. Since they won’t be going to the playoffs.

Grats to the guys in gold & black
You definitely deserved to win that one, no doubt. Yours were the better team. But as a Viking fan I do not come out of this with despair, we were not that far outclassed by you, and I think we can improve from here, on both sides of the ball, as we get key guys back. We held you to 14 points, which I had thought would be near impossible to do. Other than the “doesn’t count” Carolina game, only one other team has done that to you in two years.
If we can get our act together and all our guys back, I expect to be chatting with you guys again in the playoffs. Although I am already starting to have it sink in that — unless you guys stumble — if we do meet again, it will probably be in the Superdome again. Sigh …
Later!

I'm confused... 14-9? Shouldn't we play another half or something?
Not that it would make a difference, we just need the practice is all…
Great Win Saints!
Great game for all football fans. Not an offensive shootout but a really close game! Vikings played well. Both teams looked ridiculously rusty. Favre didn’t look like he trusted anyone that he was throwing to anymore and hardly targeted Harvin. I think they couldve gone to him some more. Super stoked about our D…not so much with our O. Shows why we are the defending champs. We can play shootouts, we can play low scoring games, and we can always find a way to win. I just don’t expect to see many more games like this from us on either side of the ball.
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!
