Sunday Morning Bloody Mary: Fleur-de-Links January 2 - Buccaneers @ Saints Gameday Edition

There is...a house...in New Orleans...they call the Superdome. (Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty Images)

Week 17 is here.  Today the New Orleans Saints host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a regular season finale that holds some playoff significance.

Tampa Bay must win to keep their playoff hopes alive (while also getting help from the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins).  And as we all know, the Saints already have a playoff spot, but need a win and an Atlanta Falcons loss to give us the NFC South title, the #1 seed, and homefield advantage in the playoffs.

Now it's time to study all the final news and notes heading into this afternoon's game. Brian Allee-Walsh seems to feel strongly that PT won't play today, since he didn't practice yesterday.  I just wonder about that...

You know what to do to get your fix...

If ATL goes up big

we pull everyone, right?

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb

that would be nice but i doubt it

I sure wouldn’t mind seeing some of that Chase to Arrington I saw in preseason

And another thing people in this league cant be paying much attention to our practise squad

I cant believe Arrington made it all year with out some ne signing him he is a better reciever then alot of players on current rosters in this league

I actually thought he would.......

make the team ahead of Courtney Robbie. Robbies special team skills is what saved him but I now see that Patrick Robinson is a hell of a gunner too. His play cpild put Robbie on the bubble for next year which would open a spot for Arrington.

there were some opportunities for him to go to St. Louis, and one other team, I think

but he chose to stay put and now he’s got a chance with the Saints, as per Triplett of the T-P…

Arrington said he recently turned down chances to sign with the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams.

It's gonna be a great year.

The Vikings I can understand

But the Rams? An up-and-coming team, a promising quarterback, and the chance to maybe become a starter. I can understand liking Payton’s system, but when you have to share the ball with ten other receivers, finally making it off the practice squad means less here.

It was worth the wait.

true

maybe Payton told him Devery’s gone next year…

It's gonna be a great year.

PT inactive.

Looks like I voted right in the poll. I doubt he’ll ever play another down for us.

Will be interesting to see what Payton decides to do

I am sure he will decide based on how much the Falcons are whooping the Panthers.
