Heading Into The Postseason. Confident Or Concerned?

Wow! I must say, I sure am glad I missed this horrific performance in today's game due to traveling back home after a 10 day vacation.  With all these "offensive weapons" we have we scored only 13 points?  Are we playoff bound or in deep trouble?  I didn't see the game but looking at the stats I see we had 4 turnovers which is nothing new.  The key stat which has plagued us all season long.  3 punts? (Average punting yardage 31 yards)  3rd down woes correct?   A fumble on the 1 yard line right when we were going to put up 7 points.

If this team continues to shoot themselves in the foot it will be a very short post-season.  And for anyone who calls it a meaningless game is crazy!   There is no excuse why we can't go into a game and not score 30 plus points.  13 points will not win football games. 305 yards total offense?  Heck I remember when we would average 450 plus yards of offense with ease.

Injuries: Jeremy Shockey with a sore groin. Doesn't surprise me. He's always hurt.  Pierre Thomas, Jimmy Graham, Malcolm Jenkins, Marques Colston, Alex Brown, Chris Ivory.  Will these guys be ready come playoff time?

How did Drew look?  He didn't even pass for 200 yds. 3 sacks.  Is our offensive line not doing it's job again? Or is he just not on?

I'll close with this: What's happened with our High Powered Offense?  If we don't score a lot of points, we're in deep trouble.  Just my 2 cents.

I'll just say this

If the Saints actually win another Super Bowl this season, credit Jesus1000. And if they don’t, we’ll know he’s a false prophet. Bring your rocks.

It was worth the wait.

I have alot of concerns

I was all for playing our starters at the begining of the game but they should have been pulled at half time when it was apparent that Atlanta would win
Although I dont believe we lost anyone after the half we are banged up pretty good and was afraid we would lose more players
The good thing is I believe the people we held out was more precautionary then major health issues
I think our biggest lose is Jenkins from yesterday

If that's case for Jenkins

Hopefully Sharper will step up. But first things first. We must play a turnover free offensive game and score alot of points.

Hey, Jricky

your fanpost goes well with the poll question in my Who Dat Say article…let’s consider them companion pieces. Although I didn’t see your post before I posted mine.

It's gonna be a great year.

Did it ever occur to you that some guys were deactivated that could gave played but were beat up a little so as to

give them a little rest for the playoffs? Probabaly 5-6 players could have played and we could have beat Tampa anyway. Nothing against Chase Daniel, but when he is put into the game and we are within striking distance, doesn’t that tell you something? Also, Jimmy Graham jogging around as well as Jenkins. If it was the NFC Championship, they would have been in the whole game. Shockey would have played, DThomas and other too. Either way, probably 7 out og those 9 or 10 players minimum will play Sat.

I think we are gonna be left with Bush and Jones...

It doesn’t look good at RB right now, as far as injuries go. I personally think we’ll be fine with or without PT or Tusk but still.

I'm still pretty confident.

Saints just didn’t care about yesterday’s game.

Des anyone else think Sean Payton is concealing his game plan for the playoffs? Kinda like last year?

Concerned about injuries and how it will effect the game

Not anything to do with the level of play during the game yesterday.

In order to play GB for the NFC title, we’d have to get our revenge on Chicago first. Two for one? I’m all for that!

JuJo on goal line off. worries me

Reggie may be jacked to play his ole ball coach again, bigger stakes. so he doesn’t return punts, right SP, right?! Shock and Thomas prob. will play imo, D.Wynn might not touch the ball unless we’re up big 2nd half. Graham is the big play guy lately, sure would be nice if he can go. Saints Def. has to make Whitehurst miserable all day, GW blitz away.

Meaning balance the run vs pass

Whereas we’re in shotgun formation most of the time. Shotgun= defense knows you’re gonna pass. We don’t do enough draw plays as well

The Seahawks are 7-9 team

playing in a division where the 4 teams have losing records and have been outscored by opponents by over 300 pts.
We can’t take them likely and they have a chance at winning. But, cmon, Charlie Whitehurst has never been in a playoff game to my knowledge, Hasselbeck scares no one, their defense hasn’t stopped anyone all year, we beat them once already.

Do you really see Whitehurst shredding out defense with all the blitzed we will throw at him? Don’t you think he remembers Tracy Porter’s playoff Ints last year and knows Sharper can set the NFL recprd for pick 6’s in this game? The Seahawks are the ones that need to worry. Don’t you think they are looking at film and saying “oH crap, even Arrington is someone we now have to be concerned about.”

A I said, we can’t take them lightly, but I don’t see them giving Drew fits, I see Drew giving them fits. Colston, Bush, Jones, Shockey, Graham, DThomas, Moore, Henderson, Meachem and Arrington will all play. If Jenkins doesn’t play (I think he will) Sharper will be fine. Hargrove will play. Maybe even PT. We’ll be fine.

Reggie getting more carries maybe be an asset- he is looking better every week since he has been back.

Concerned about the injuries, but not about execution.

Our team will be ready for the playoffs. I wager coach won’t show his hand until the divisional game.

first of all

reggie is going to go wild against the seahawks. he didn’t get to play them the last time, so expect him to post 100+ rushing and 100+ receiving. sounds crazy huh? it is! but it will happen!

secondofly… saints are going to with the superbowl again.

living in cali i am tempted to drive / fly up to seattle and try to watch the game, but i am poor so no can do.

something i realized… whenever i stay home to watch the game, the saints lose. whenever i go out to a bar to watch them play, they win.

since my wife has agreed to go to the bar with me.. i am confident about this game.
