Hey!!

They consider the whole season, not just the last game! And Gdub got outcoached by Seattle, too. Just sayin’.

I for one am so glad to see Harper go to the Pro- Bowl

Obviously the league respects his abilities. He had a great year except for a very bad last game and that was really unfortunate. To me, the problem with our sateies was this – we were pretty good when it was Jenkins- Harper (this year), But, when it became Sharper – Harper at times this year, it wasn’t good. Last year Sharper was faster and this year his lack of speed put more burden on Harper. There is a difference between a SS and a FS and it worked well last year when Sharper was faster. Harper’s strength is not man coverage on WRs but he had to do that more when Sharper was in the picture. To top it off, GW didn’t make an adjustment to help the situation. To add to it, we had no pass rush! To give up so few long pass plays and passing TDs on defense like we did this year is quite hard to do without a pass rush.
Harper played a lot of downs too- more than he should have because Prioleau, Reis and Giordano were scary subs to give him a rest and we were fighting it out to the wire. So, Harper wore down late in the season.

The guy has had a very good career, a great 2009, and a great 2010 until our one playoff debacle.

One bad game (and I readily admit it was terrible) and everyone wants to forget the great play we got from him???

that was as much...

Young’s fault as it was Harper’s. Where was Sharper on that play?

I’m on record as saying that we could stand to upgrade the SS spot. (I’m sure stu could find it) But Roman Harper has made key play after key play for this year and deserves the pro bowl birth.

He does what a SS should do...

98 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 3 sacks, 8 pass defended, and 1 INT this year. The other Pro bowl safeties?

Adrian Wilson: 88 tackles, 0 forced fumbles, 2 sacks, 9 pass defended and 2 INTs
Nick Collins: 70 tackles, 0 forced fumbles, 0 Sacks, 12 pass defended and 4 INTs

I’m not sure what else the man has to do…

(In full disclosure, I’ve said before this yr that Harper was upgradeable. (I’m sure Stu could find it) But he proved me wrong, and I’m man enough to admit it.)

Who set up that run by giving up 3 TD?

Which put us behind and they were able to run the clock out?

So...

by your reckoning, it’s Harpers fault that in a game with plenty of time left and we were only down by 5 and Drew and co. had already put up 30+ points and the last offensive drive they put together resulted in a TD that no one from Sedrick Ellis through to Darren Sharper could stop Lynch, who certainly wasn’t “beasting” it up until that run? That’s insane!!!

Agree, his reg. season # are deservingly

he’s been a run stopper and never a big cover guy, i expect him to get beat . He picked a bad day to have a bad gm.,but he had no help from our pass rush either.

No, that was Usama Young's fault 100%- I remember that play.

Sharper got banged up right before and Young came in in a 1/2 second’s notice and had man coverage and Manning saw it and went right at it. Young had about .3 seconds notice he was in on that play.
