Saints Place Chris Ivory on IR, Sign DeShawn Wynn

Saints running back Chris Ivory can close the book on his first ever NFL season. We sorta knew this was coming after yesterday's report that the undrafted free agent was seen wearing a walking boot and using crutches.

Greg Bensel broke the news to us just moments ago via Twitter...

Saints place rookie RB Chris Ivory on Injured reserve; sign RB DeShawn Wynn

This doesn't come as welcome news whatsoever for the playoff-bound Saints or any fans hoping to see the team establish more of a running game. Ivory has been the team's workhouse in the ground game and probably the most pleasant surprise of the season.

Thank you for getting the team this far, Chris. Look forward to seeing you next year.

The status of Pierre Thomas' ankle injury or whether he'll play this weekend is still uncertain.
