Could he coach from one of those Hover-round scooters I see on TV?

Don Shula has a gently used motorized cart that Payton may be interested in…

suzjo has said at least 3 times: He needs to get one of those Rascal scooters, like George Costanza’s.

"The Voice" Sea.9 ep#2 lots going on
George: Mr. Thomassoulo hired the wrong guy to be fake handicapped!
Play Now, upon learning George isn’t handicapped,
Mr. Thomassoulo: George I realize we signed a one yr. contract with you, but at this point, I think it best we go our separate ways.
George: I don’t understand
Mr. Thomassoulo: We don’t like you, and we want you to leave.

This won't be a problem.
Everyone will adjust and figure it out. No need to abandon ship just yet. Too many people are reacting like we just lost to Seattle again and the season is over. Payton won’t be in the booth for long. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back on the sideline either on a scooter, wheelchair, or whatever in a couple of weeks. He’s going to be miserable in the booth because he won’t have the same player interaction and ability to instantly coach up there. He likes being able to scold players when they don’t put on the correct cleats or screw up in some other way. He’ll probably just brace his knee by sticking a few slices of Juicy Fruit on there and be ready and on the sidelines for the Colts game.

Tonight, suzjo suggested the wheelchair on the sideline, and also the in the back of the John Deere Gator. She doesn’t get what the big deal is. I can’t recall an NFL head coach on the sidelines on crutches or anything else.

Don Shula was on a golfcart/wheelchair for awhile. Marvin Lewis sprained a ligament in his knee on a play similar to the one Sunday and was on crutches for a couple weeks. It has happened before.
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
I'm leaning wheelchair in the booth, imo
especially this early in the recovery/rehab. No weight bearing 6-8 wks, so even on crutches that’s not a comfortable feeling, that leg will be throbbing, after 10 min. of standing, it needs to be elevated. Dr.’s orders.

I hoping
The view from the booth will give Sean a different perspective of the field and he will actually run the damn ball.

That's actually a great idea!
He would just need it to be well away from the sideline and next to the benches. Would probably also want it to have steel legs and be anchored into the ground just in case players get pushed that far out of bounds. The umbrella wouldn’t be needed because he always wears the visor. They could also install a little lift to support his leg and keep it elevated. This could work and it would look pretty cool as well.

since we are the Saints
maybe Benson can get him the equivalent of the PopeMobile that the pontiff rides around in? Bulletproof glass and all, for the road games.
BTW – first use of “pontiff” ever on CSC

I wasn't in the game-day thread...
did it look like a late hit out of bounds to anyone else?
first defender pushed Jimmy out, second guy extended his arms AFTER Jimmy was out of bounds. No flag!
anyone go so far as to think he did it on purpose, to shove JG into SP?
he wasn't actually out of bounds when they guy hit him
BUT…he was wrapped up down low and falling out of bounds so if the guy had pulled up, Graham wouldn’t have gained any more yards. I was kind of hot about it at first as a late hit, but then when I saw the replay I thought, “well, he wasn’t out of bounds yet, but the guy really didn’t need to hit him to complete a 2-man tackle…”
Now that I think about it, that play looked much more “unnecessarily rough” then Jenkins’s play later in the game that got flagged for U R.

maybe they could put him in one of those min-bllmps that flies around the stadium
or rig him up on a three-wired platform like that floating camera (seen here) that gives the mobile bird’s eye-view.
