I'm glad Kreutz bailed

No hard feelings at all. Id rather someone play who wants to be a Saint and play football.

IMHO… Safeties aren’t supposed to be covering TE’s. That’s a job for a LB or a larger nickle-back.

So, yes… we would be a lot better with better LB’s – absolutely!

But, don’t get down on Harper because he’s being called to do someone else’s job. We don’t need another strong safety, we need better LB’s. Get better LB’s and allow Roman to do what he’s supposed to do.

If SP started lining up PT out wide on every play, and he was asked to run routes like a WR, many people would be calling for PT’s head because he would be a poor WR.

Other people would realize that PT is not a WR and would cut him some slack. And they’d point out that we need more WR’s, if PT is being asked to play WR week in and week out.

I agree Dan, I think the hardest thing is teams really have zeroed in on Harper post Seattle game and they just wear him out. Saints didn’t address issue at LB and now they are paying.

In all fairness

This is what CP’s been saying since the Draft. I would like to see us address LB position, in the draft, because it seems most times than not when we bring in someone from another team who is supposed to be great, it’s like they forget how to play.

This is what I’ve been saying (and many others and probably CP) since the draft before last. :-)

It’s a huge need. We should have drafted one two years ago, so he could have contributed this year and maybe last… until then, we need a free agent who is actually good.

well, we got rid of the overpriced Center, so we have enough to bring in a thrid string LB.

It's all good!

What's the deal with Herring?

He was supposed to challenge for a starting spot before the injury, right?

I don’t wanna travel to the West Coast and play a much better team than last years Seahawks and face Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis.

And, Alex Smith is playing way better than previous years. only 2 INT’s so far.

by Dan Kelly on Oct 28, 2011 3:01 PM CDT reply actions

Indeed, no way.

If we are gonna play the 49er’s I want it to be in the dome. At this point, the only team who should beat us in home field advantage should be Green Bay (and I’m wishing heaping loads of bad mojo on them). ANYONE else – in the dome, baby.

by Valmo on Oct 28, 2011 3:41 PM CDT up reply actions

GB wouldn’t beat us at home now… Even with the bad play calling and PMFR (at the time), we almost won in freakin’ Lambeau.

by Dan Kelly on Oct 28, 2011 4:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Don't get me wrong.

The 49ers are a good team in a very weak division. But their success rests solely on their LB’s and their running game. Their secondary is nowhere near as good as they would need to be to stifle Brees. I don’t see Gore lasting the whole season without some form of injury resulting in a few missed weeks.

Alex Smith is playing better. But he has only thrown it about 160 times, completing 100. Decent percentage. But I would not be relying on him to be able to pull a team from a deep deficit or be able to pull it out in a high scoring shooting match.

Harbaugh has been a huge addition for that organization.

Was curious about the listener count

The amount of listeners was kinda poked fun at in the podcast and I was curious if you have a listener or view count to go off of. If so, what is the average number of listeners on any given week?
