As a child I had many professional idols. Some, for their spectacular play on the field, while others because they were simply the "lovable loser." Projection: Dan Marino's single-season record is going to be broken by at least two players. Marino's record is 5,084 yards. Over a 16-game season, that breaks down to 317.75 yards per game. There are six (SIX!) players ahead of that pace right now: Tom Brady(notes) (at a staggering 388 yards per game), Drew Brees(notes), Cam Newton(notes), Aaron Rodgers(notes), Philip Rivers(notes) and Tony Romo(notes). If Brady stays healthy and on that pace, he'll catch Marino in his 13th game. I see both Brady and Brees going over the 5,084 mark.

While I agree most Saints fans are quite obnoxious
Ha!!! Who would have thunk it?
If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten-George Carlin
I resemble that remark!
…and livin’ in Pamper land, I am not well-received…
…that’s THEIR problem. :-P

Well if they think we're obnoxious
Step on over to CSR and read their SBN CSR members opinion survey. I guess I’d rather be obnoxious than a DOUCHEBAG.
"Daddy, them cigarettes are gonna kill you". My aunts last words to my 96 year old grandpa before he fell out of bed and broke his neck reaching for a full pack.
I think they're jealous of the rivalry between the Saints and Falcons.
Some of the Panthers fan base (or, at least some of them at CSR) suffer from a new kid on the block inferiority complex. Not having a long established, heated rivalry with another team causes them to feel incomplete. As a result, they try too hard to be hated under the misguided notion that being “hated” is the only requirement needed to establish a true rivalry.
We've been humble 40+ yrs....
We earned the right as lifelong Saints Fans’ to have a lil swagger now. Obnoxious is the losers’ way of saying free spirited! We’re no where CLOSE to being like other fans in other cities when Katrina created the Cajun Diaspora. Obnoxious is an understatement when talking about other cities’ fans and how they treated Saints Fans during football season back then. Carolina is and will always be bitter on how they lost the big game but they just have to deal with it like we dealt with “The Aint’s” era. Hard but fair…. Sad but true…
i hate them.. they were pampered into contention right off the bat..
they were a novel idea of an expansion team (along with the jags)..
they didn’t pay their dues when they first came into the league, like we did..
a new team is supposed to suck for decades (maybe not 4 decades)..
but getting to the conference championship game..?

The Panthers were an imediate contender because
They built their initial roster with older, good, but older players. So they started out great but then age caught up with them fast. Then Richardson got cheap and the team went on a, to borrow from Stujo, gradual decline.

I think stuj
calls that a steep decline.

No that's the spin the offended masses choose to hear
Stu plainly, on more than one occasion, calls it a slow, gradual decline. He has even put up graphics to try to display it. Don’t necessarily agree with him, but he states his claim, and sticks with it, especially since it keeps the pot stirred.

I'm pretty sure
he calls the Panthers a steep decline. Why am I worried about what stuj thinks?

i was saying that they were "aided" by nfl rules to become such contender..
with supplemental draft picks, 1st shot at free agents (we lost sam mills) & i forget exactly, how this played out.. but every team “gave” at least one player.. one veteran player.. like.. “here.. have him..”
i’m sure pizza will follow up with the complete story..
