thomasmorstead Thomas Morstead
“@daybreaker: @thomasmorstead Think coach would ever let you try a 60+ yarder with like 3 secs left in a half?” I wish…. And I’m ready too
I would love to see this. Only if we are up by a few TD’s. Give the man a shot, Coach.
This comment was written by a reader and member of Canal Street Chronicles. It does not necessarily reflect the views of CSC and its staff or editors.
Because an inexperienced kicker kicking from long distance….the chances of it being blocked due to the undoubted low trajectory combined with a 10 point swing by a subsequent return for a TD at the half….WAY too risky. Then end of the game as our only means to pull it out while down by two….sure why not.

You’re right, it would have to be (or at the very least should be) at the end of the game, and not ever at the end of the half – too much football left to play.
But, if it’s the end of the game… I mean :01 left on the clock… i.e. game-clock hits 0:00… while the ball is in the air) and were up by 9 points and it will be an NFL record 64+ yards, then go for it.
That’s why that record hardly ever gets challenged – too many factors go into even trying it.
I'd rather Morstead do it than Kasey.

Bring back Aaron Brooks! He's the only one who can save us from the evil that is Drew Brees!!

Alright, I gotta say it...
Drew Brees. Either cut the hair or get the hair plug things like Brady did. This is getting absurd.

I agree it is getting pretty bad. If he doesn’t do something soon people will start making comparisons to John Clayton’s hair.

Don't worry
After his long slow decline is over Drew can afford to fix or not fix, his hair anyway he chooses.

I would trust Morstead to do all of the punting, kicking and field goals. The dude can kick field goals, he is just that kind enough to let a team mate have a job. I wouldn’t doubt with his power, that he could kick a 65 yarder right down the middle.
do you think strength = accuracy?
