Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Lions DT Ndamukong Suh has been suspended by the NFL for two games without pay.
It's a well-deserved ban after Suh stomped on Packers right guard Evan Dietrich-Smith last Thursday. With nine personal fouls in 27 career NFL games, Suh earned the league's first multi-game ban since the Albert Haynesworth incident in 2006. Although he can appeal the ban and play against the Saints this Sunday, we're not expecting him to do so after apologizing to commissioner Roger Goodell earlier this week. Sammie Hill and first-round rookie Nick Fairley are candidates to fill in.

Not sure about this part
Although he can appeal the ban and play against the Saints this Sunday, we’re not expecting him to do so after apologizing to commissioner Roger Goodell earlier this week.

Unless Mr. Ford says otherwise, I expect the Lions to try and get him out there against us. Jim Swartz saw the shellacking we put on the Giants last night and will know he doesn’t stand a chance against our O without his best defensive player. Also, it will make for an even better ratings draw Sunday night if this highly publicized player is on the field. I’d be surprised if they don’t appeal and put this off for another week.

"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

Me too. :-(

I tend to agree

But at the same time, apologizing and then appealing is quite contradictory. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just let it play out.

Saying you didn’t do anything and then apologizing is quite contradictory too. :-)

Mr Suh, If your first statement was true (“I just lost my balance.”), then what did you apologize for?

Exactly

I suppose with that type of logic:

Take 1: I didn’t do nuthin…I had an inner ear issue and lost my balance…

Take 2: I was a bad bad bad man Sorry Mr. Commissioner…

Take 3: Suspension??? Goodell I am appealing and if you don’t reverse this suspension I am going to stomp on your face…I mean…I strenuously object….
