Fantasy Football 2011: Saints Sleeper of the Week

With running back Mark Ingram still nursing a toe injury and ruled out for Sunday's Saints game against the Vikings, Chris Ivory will again be dressing in his place. We haven't seen much of Ivory at all this season but we did get a reminder of what he can do last week when he rushed for 53 yards on 13 carries against the Titans.

And he should only get better with each game as he gets back up to football speed. Which is why I think he's a legitimate starting option for fantasy football owners this week. He'll be getting a fair amount of what would normally be Mark Ingram's carries. Ivory has always had that ability to break off a long run, sometimes making something out of nothing. If the Vikings secondary is as bad as their fans say it is, Drew Brees could potentially put this game out of reach early. That would mean lots more running late in the game during "garbage" time and I'm pretty sure it would be Ivory benefiting from those touches.

Don't get caught sleeping on this Saints sleeper. I'm sure Chris Ivory is probably still available in your league, so pick him up and put him in, coach.
