They're already trying to disrepect Brees!
Let me start this off by saying that I'm not a 20 year old kid. I'm a guy who grew up watching football in the 70"s and 80's. I keep hearing about the rules changes and different era, blah, blah, blah and I'm fed up with it. First off, It's not Drew's Fault that he's playing in today's era and not the 80's. I personally think he would've have been just as good then as he is today, but why speculate because we will never know. Besides, I'm sure that there's some 80 or 90 year guys sitting around somewhere saying "those guys in the 70's and 80's had it too good." While another 90 year old is saying "we had it tough in the 50's when you good tackle guys with a sledgehammer!" What we do know is that Drew Brees not only broke the single season passing record, but he is the only person in the history of football with over 5000 passing yards in more than one season and once Tom Brady breaks it (and only say Brady cuz I don't expect Rodgers to break 5k), he will have 2 of the only 4 5K passing seasons in history.
Furthermore, I have been a fan of this team since the beginning! I didn't join the team in the last few years or during the Jim Haslet or Mike Ditka era. The great Dome Patrol didn't bring me to the Saints! I'm a long time fan and if I die at 80 years old just know that I should've been 110 because being pissed at those bad 70's and 80's Saints teams took 30 years off my life. I say this because we true Saints fans deserve this as much as we deserved the Dome Patrol, the Reggie Bush draft, The Superbowl and Drew Brees. Congrats Saints, Drew and Nawlins!

Screw all the haters
If the Falcons or any other team that we played this year dont like it expecially the Packers who seem to be talking alot of crap on their board about this
They all had their chance to stop it
Each and every team we played gave up big yards to the Saints passing game and Drew
I think the Bucs only gave up 2578 yards to us in the 1st game that was the lowest this year
Everyone of them belong in the record book with us under a big headline that says FAIL
Way to go Saints offense next week let Sproles get his record and lets break the greatest show on turfs record with a blowout of the Panthers

Sick of all the unwritten sportmanship rules
When I was in high school, we were getting thumped by a larger school in the area and we felt like they were running up the score on us. Our coach pulled the team aside and said “U got nobody to be pissed at but urself! If you don’t like em scoring, then stop em and shut the #$%@ up!!!” The name of the game is score points and guess what one of the tie breakers in playoff scenarios is points scored!
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Bum Phillips
Agreed with MissSaintsfan and alot of other Saints and Brees Supporters
The haters can go drown themselves in horse urine fecal matter. The first QB to throw for over 5,000 YARDS TWICE in their career in a 3 year span, is quite an accomplishment.
So what if people accuse the Saints of running up the score so much. HELLO!!!! Isn’t Bill Belichek famous for that as well? He has 3 rings doesn’t he? We’re hoping to get that.
Here’s the bottom line. Alot of people hate Sean Payton. Why? Because he’s almost a carbon coby of Sean Payton, in the offensive genius sense. And yes, there are people that call him an arrogant A__ or a Dick.
Mike Martz was called the same thing back in the show on turf days.
If everybody hates the offense cause they can score at will? Good. Then build a defense to stop them instead of whining about it.
I spent 8 years trying to reach him...and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...Evil.

People hate success.
And the media fans the flames. Not one player or coach from Atlanta said they had a problem with it. Jason Cole, and I’m sure others will follow, apparently feel the need to get themselves noticed by being negative. Let them. Everyone knows it’s horse manure. Those stories are just out there for the people that already hate the Saints, so they can feel better about themselves for a little while before they go cry themselves to sleep because their team is hot garbage. There’s no doubt in my mind that ANY other team would’ve done the same if they were in that situation. And even if the record wasn’t in play, hell yes you run the score up on a division rival that you may very well meet in the playoffs in a few weeks. You send that message to their defense.
Good Point Jimbo
And you need to remember, we humiliated a good team last night. We held them to 35 yards rushing. They were one dimensional after that. In this league, you kick a team while they’re down. Remember the Mora and Bum Phillips days? Those 4th quarter leads, sometimes by 2 or 3 scores that turned into heartbreaking losses. That’s not who they are today. You have the mastermind Sean Payton who not only wants to just win a game, he wants to “Dominate” you in every phase of the game.
To me, whether he’s arrogant, a Dick or whatever. He’s our head coach. I love him to death. I wouldn’t trade him for the world. And Brees? Had me in happy tears last night. Not just because his stats/points etc. Because he is a TRUE leader, and a humble leader who loves winning, his teammates and his fans.
And that’s what this team was missing for 40 years. A True Leader!
I spent 8 years trying to reach him...and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...Evil.

First off, It’s not Drew’s Fault that he’s playing in today’s era
And it wasn’t Poison’s fault that they played crappy music in the ’80’s. (I would have used a current band but I don’t know any. And Poison REALLY sucked. And Cinderella REALLY REALLY sucked.)
I don't suppose you would remember me, but I used to follow you back in '63.
Who's next on the suck list? RATT?
You are killing it with the 80’s references……

Just Remember....
the motivation behind this is jealousy. They’d LOVE to be in our shoes right now!
We DESERVE this football fun! My husband and I were married the year before the Saints came into the league, and we were there for the 62-7 or 61-7 drubbing of the Saints by the Falcons in the early 1970’s, all those 20-17 losses to the Falcons in the ?70’s when they’d win the game on the last play by a Hail Mary pass, and so many other miserable games.
We deserve this, I’m enjoying it, and I plan to KEEP ON ENJOYING it – others Saints fans should as well!
They shopwed a stat last night...
Comparing Marino’s average ypg to the league avg, and the Drew’s avg ypg to the league avg. marino was ~ 85 yards above the rest of the league and Drew is ~ 94 yards above the rest of the league. So if the league is so “watered down” or this is only happening because of all the rules changes, how do you explain that fact?

It's because they need something
They need something they can use to water it down with. Had this been Brady, some people might have said something about it, but they would have said that it was going to happen because he is such a good QB. But you have this guy, who had his shoulder operated on, the farm team didn’t want him anymore, the phins passed on him, and the only team that would take him was recovering from one of the worse disasters in the history of this country. He was too short to play pro football. And the team he played for had never won a championship. He embraced the city and the city embraced him. He is a leader among leaders and is one classy guy. Some will do anything they can to take some shine out of his spotlight. Cole actually wrote in another article about how he wasn’t trying to disrespect Drew
Controversial record-setting For all those folks who think I’m ripping the Saints, Sean Payton or Drew Brees for deciding to keep passing so that Brees could break Dan Marino’s passing yardage record on Monday night in the closing minutes of a lopsided game, just stop for a second. Personally, I don’t have a real problem with it. The NFL is a league for big boys who are fully capable of taking care of their own business. What I’m questioning is how the Atlanta Falcons feel about the situation. Are they going to hold a grudge? Is it going to help them get motivated?
He said he thought it was classless.
Classy? Not so much
So, yeah people are now backtracking cause a lot of people are sticking up for the man who broke the record. He broke the record because he is just that good
You are permitted to quote yourself.
May not be classy though,ik,ik(:-)>

the thing is, I just don't think the Falcons have enough left to "get their dander up and get revenge."
Turner is out of gas and he’s their motor. Matty Ice can throw outlet passes to RBs in the flats all day and settle for FGs. But they can’t do what it takes to beat the Saints.
"We've established the run; we've established the pass. Now all we have to establish is another championship!"
As an outside observer
You have no reason to care what I say. I am just nosing around the other playoff teams’ threads.
It is interesting because every group of fans is complaining in some way about how their team doesn’t get enough: respect, appreciation, calls or whatever.
As far as Brees goes I hear almost exclusively praise for him. And it is deserved he is awesome. I think there are about 30 teams that would love to have him as a starting QB. There are so many talking heads and analysts now days that you can find somebody saying anything. I have a hard time seeing how you could feel like Brees doesn’t get the props he deserves. He is considered a top 1-3 qb by basically everybody. They don’t love him as much as you do but they aren’t fans. I am guessing you guys don’t love Joe Montana like I do but that is cool. I don’t expect you to.
Joe, Jerry, Steve, and....Who is next?
