(Calvin Johnson) still scares me. (Lions @ Saints) |
6 receptions for 69 yards, longest was 22, no TD's. Be not afraid, my daisy. |
Nov 16 2011 |
Matt Leinart will do better than .500 with the Texans the rest of the season, 4-2 at worst. |
Oh I'm afraid not. |
But he started off good. 10 of 13 for 57 yards and a touchdown. And a broken collarbone. |
Sep 19 2011 |
Malcolm Jenkins. 2011 Pro-Bowler. |
Everybody loves Malcolm. Except grumpy, never satisfied... well, let's just say it: coldpizza. |
Nov 9 2011 |
Packers lose at least 2 games this year. |
Your window of opportunity is closing fast. |
Nov 3 2011 |
Peyton Manning will not play another down in the NFL. |
Uh huh, that's right. |
Nov 3 2011 |
Peyton will play again. |
I presume you meant NFL football. |
Nov 10 2011 |
Manning will be on a new team next year and will pull a Joe Montana (take his new squad to the playoffs). |
Rotoworld.com: Archie Manning believes Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck do not want to be teammates on the Colts next season. Luck has participated in the Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana. His father, Oliver, was a teammate of Archie's, so the families may have already touched base on the possibility. |
Oct 4 2011 |
He will then go the way of JaMarcus Russell...sCam (Cam Newton) is a flash in the pan. |
4-8, currently 8th in passing yards. Ahead of Andy Dalton, Roethlisberger and Matt Ryan. |
Nov 9 2011 |
The Bucs won't make the playoffs this year and may even finish behind the Panthers in the division. |
They're both 4-8. Getting ugly. |
Aug 3 2011 |
Saints go 5-1 in division, lose @Tampa 15-1 blah blah |
Currently 3-1, lost @ Tampa. When you're hot, you're hot. |
Aug 3 2011 |
Bucs will go at least 11-5 and push us for the division title |
Hans, you are mathematically eliminated. |
And your Rams game prediction is all but forgotten. |
May 1 2011 |
The Falcons will begin a steep decline based on this draft. |
Currently 7-5. What, they should have drafted Locker?? |
Aug 3 2011 |
Atlanta will hit 9-7 (Julio will fail miserably, and Ryan will do worse than 2010 in passer rating) |
Possible although Julio will need to take a dive and I you know I hate passer ratings. |
Sep 4 2011 |
I don't think the Foulclowns will even make the playoffs this year. |
Mr. Dave2 hopes you are wrong. |
Aug 19 2011 |
Matt Ryan will NOT lead the league in TD passes, not even top 3, but maybe top 5 |
Currently in a 4 way tie for 8th. |
Aug 4 2011 |
Tarvaris Jackson goes .500 in 2011 if he starts an even number of games greater than zero |
Aug 4 2011 |
Seahawks go under .500 in 2011 |
Currently 5-7 but Marshawn Lynch is 12th in yards rushing. |
Jul 13 2011 |
Jimmy Graham: 10 TD's in 2011 |
8 through 12 games |
Apr 29 2011 Jun 8 2011 |
Ingram pick cost too much with too much risk. Overrated, potential bust. |
Our foundation back? Let's go to the authorities, rotoworld.com: Ingram won't win anybody's Rookie of the Year award, but on pace for 664 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in an extremely crowded backfield, he's been plenty productive. |
May 1 2011 |
Ingram scores only 2 to 4 TD's IF he makes the team. |
Yeah, he's on the team. |
And 5 rushing TD's in 12 games. I think we're done here. |
May 1 2011 |
Ingram has injury concerns, may not have been the best running back prospect in the draft, and doesn't represent a great upgrade over Thomas/Ivory. and when you consider the price, it was a bad pick unless Ingram puts his butt in the Pro Bowl multiple times or keys another Super Bowl run. |
What about the crowded backfield part? He's not playing the part of the traditional bell cow/foundation running back who gets all or most of the carries, through no fault of his own. Does that count for anything? |
Jul 6 2011 |
Ingram starts more games than Jordan in 2011 |
Jordan 12, Ingram 4. |
I guess we thought someone else would start at DE, but CamJo has done pretty well this year. |
Jul 12 2011 |
Ingram DOES NOT start more games than Jordan in 2011 |
Yeah I heard ya. |
And how many sacks does he have? I guess that's another conversation. You were right, sk. |
Apr 28 2011 |
Morstead and 2011 Saints will set NFL record for fewest punts and team record for 6 games without a punt |
I don't know if they've had any games without a punt, but Morstead does lead the league for fewest punts among regular punters. 37 |
Apr 24 2011 |
Thinks our run game will be Top 5. |
Currently #8 and climbing. |
Aug 15 2011 |
Saints' offense will rank in the 12th to 18th range this season |
Currently #1: 1st in passing, 8th in rushing. |
May 2 2011 |
Three NFC South teams with double digit win totals in 2011. |
Oh that's a shame. |
With 4 games remaining, Panters and Bucs can only go 8-8 each. |
Nov 15 2011 |
Detroit wins at least one game with Green Bay |
They have a chance, Jan 1 @ Lambeau. Ok, they don't have a chance. |
Aug 19 2011 |
Mike Vick will have a mediocre season and not make it back to the top 5 for MVP voting. |
I'm calling run rule on this one. |
Vick made the bleacher/report list at #12 for most overpaid athletes of 2011. |
Oct 4 2011 |
Eagles won't make the playoffs. |
They are keeping hope alive. |
Aug 21 2011 |
Lance and Meachem each have better seasons than Colston (better in 2 out of 3 categories: Receptions, yards, TD's) |
Aug 21 2011 |
Moore's season more likely to be better than Colston's than Meachem's as compared to Colston's. |
It's trending that way. |
Apr 28 2011 |
Whoever drafts Da'Quan Bowers will see him balloon up during the inevitable rehab |
He's still not hurt. |
May 1 2011 |
Martez Wilson, not Mark Ingram, makes the biggest impact of all rookies this season. |
Started 1 game, appeared in 9: 2 tackles, 1 assist. And you tell me that Shanle sucks. |
May 2 2011 |
Wilson probably has the best chance of our drafted rookies to win Rookie of the Year |
If the Saints had drafted Mookie Wilson. He made the Mets Hall of Fame. That's as close as I can get it. |
May 4 2011 |
Martez Wilson will be the best overall performer of our draft class |
I'd rank him better than Johnny WTF Patrick, how's that? |
May 2 2011 |
Junior Galette will be a starter this year |
0-12 Is this who I thought was going to put Cam Jordan on the bench? |
May 4 2011 |
Ingram won't have more than 3 games with 13+ carries |
13, 14, 17, 14, 13, 16 |
Maybe not INGRAMANIA!!! per se, but IngramEnthusiasm, certainly. |
May 4 2011 |
Ingram will have 8 games with 13+ carries & 50%+ more rushing yards than teammates |
Nah, it's pretty even, yards in the 400's and no sign of change. |
Running back by committee: Saving you for the future, son. |
Jun 2 2011 |
Doesn't believe A Arrington will be a regular rotation receiver in 2011 |
I can't believe it's not believable. |
3 games, no starts, 1 catch for 14 yards. He's been around since 2008. |
Nov 2 2010 |
The over thrown would be TD pass to Strief in week 8 of 2010 indicates Brees' QB career peaked in 2009 |
"Peaked"???? You mean started declining???? No. But neither seems to be happening. |
Aug 28 2011 |
Drew Brees' best years are behind him |
I can't believe a season ticket holder said that. |
Jul 14 2011 |
Drew Brees will prove he is not in decline by throwing less than 10 interceptions and winning the league MVP award |
11 picks to date. Maybe Rodgers will get hurt. Oh GAAA!!!! Not supposed to wish that. |
Oct 15 2011 |
Drew Brees wins the MVP award. |
I sense you are wishing it. |
Aug 24 2011 |
Drew Brees is not declining or losing his focus. |
Only his hairline. Did I say that last time? |
All right, this is enough. You are correct AP, by anyone's measure except Frenchie's. |
Aug 15 2011 |
Drew Brees will throw 38 TD's and no more than 14 INT's this year |
30-11 to date |
Nov 27 2011 |
Drew will throw no more than 2 more INTs for the rest of the regular season. |
Zero since 11/13/11 |
Oct 1 2011 |
Drew Brees: 4500+ yds. and 30+ TD's this season, and that the Saints win at least 12 games |
Very doable at this point. That word looks like "double" spelled wrong. |
Jul 14 2011 |
Pierre Thomas will lead the team for the season in rushing yards and rushing TDs |
Ingram is in the lead on both items. |
May 14 2010 |
Condemned Ricky Williams draft day trade, applauded Tebow draft day trade |
Was it ever Ricky Time? I think so, kinda. Tebow is cutting a wide swath in the NFL though. Bless his heart. |
Nov 9 2011 |
Chiefs will lose to Tebow and the Broncos in KC and lose the AFC West race. |
God, the Chiefs suck. |
You are correct, BG4. |
Jul 2 2011 |
Shaun Rogers will make a big impact on defense for the Saints in 2011. |
Near late hits on QB's and then picking them up by their jersey tags. Not what I had in mind. |
Jul 11 2011 |
Shaun Rogers in 2011: 2-3 sacks tops |
0 in 12 games. |
Jul 12 2011 |
At least two teams with a new starting QB will make the playoffs this year. At least one of those new QBs will be a rookie |
Stop trying to make me think. |

Yes, I meant Payton Manning WILL play again in the NFL
and he’ll play for the Colts.
Yes, I predicted less than 10 INTs for Brees this year and he currently sits at 11. I was just hoping that once he breaks Marino’s record the league will remove 2 INTs from his season total. Isn’t that how it works?
The media has all but awarded Aaron Rodgers the MVP title, so there’s little chance that prediction of mine will be correct. Not that Rodgers doesn’t deserve it. Any other year with a Peyton Manningless NFL, Brees would be a shoo-in for MVP.

you are out on a limb and Polian just pulled the cord on the chain saw
and he’ll play for the Colts.
Rotoworld.com:
The Colts owe Peyton Manning a $28 million bonus before the start of the 2012 league year. This is significant because it means the Colts can’t trade Manning before forking over this huge sum. If they pay him and then trade him, the cap charge against the Colts will be $38.8 million. And if they trade him after the 2012 season, the 2013 cap charge would still be $28.8 million. If Manning won’t adjust his contract parameters, the Colts will either have to cut him or keep him for two more seasons. That’s a lot of money for a guy with a broken neck and Andrew Luck available in the draft for a team that needs rebuilding anyway.

I'm a real cool head, I'm makin' real good bread
Colts fans love him,
so the front office will work out something to keep him there. They built their whole team around him and it’ll take more than one draft class to change course.

Keep in mind that under the new rookie wage cap Luck won’t be making the kind of money that previous #1 picks made. I was reading somewhere that it would actually be cheaper to draft luck, trade Manning and bite the bullet on the penalties than it would be to simply pay to have Manning as the sole quarterback for a couple more years. Not saying it is going to happen like that, but nothing financial is standing it their way.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''

I also don't know where I said it here...
But I said a change of scenery would prove to help Bush and prove that it was more about him being in this scheme than him being a bust…just saying.
Haters gon' hate...
I think we will get three more great years
Out of Brees before we see strong evidence of decline. Even when the inevitable decline does take place, I imagine he will still be playing at an above average level. I just hope he recognizes when it begins happen so he can retire on top and not make the mistake that so many NFL players do and keep playing. I really hope he doesn’t go the "veteran QB " route and play for another team to squeeze out the last drop of QB magic.

this is good news
And your Rams game prediction is all but forgotten.
I’m trying to forget much of what happened on the field in the game…
WIN NOW
WINGRAMANIA!!!!
my NFCS division predictions are all pretty wrong except for Matty Nice
Julio’s not going to stink up the joint, Falcs will win more than 9, and the Bucs stink on ice.
but I was at least kinda close to the ballpark on the punting prognostications
WIN NOW
WINGRAMANIA!!!!
Julio’s not going to stink up the joint
He did on Sunday – he dropped four very catchable passes. And that’s not the first time he’s had the dropseys. Combined with his injuries, I think it’s a reasonable conclusion that the Falcons way overpaid for him.
I don’t know who the Falcons WRs coach is, but his securing the ball doesn’t seem to be a point of emphasis for him.

I’ll go on record now as saying the Tebow-led Broncos will win the AFC West. I can’t believe how many people are buying into the Chargers after they beat a bad Jacksonville team.

Sure looks like its heading that way. Bronco's have momentum
and the Raiders are stammering and stuttering.

I couldn’t believe it when I turned on the TV and saw Leinart in a sling. Too bad for the Texans because Pittsburgh and Baltimore have easier remaining schedules.

The question I have is this
If Drew is going to start to decline in about 3 years, do we start looking for a replacement now? Do we try to stumble on the Steve Young of the draft and sit on him while Drew is in his heyday and let him out of the blocks after having 3+ years under the tutalige of Drew Brees?
We don't have to address it right now
I think we might start seeing decline in 3 years but I have no doubt that he will be our starting quarterback for the next 5 years. I think we spend a high draft pick on a quarterback in two years and give him a couple seasons under Drew. I really like Chase Daniel but there is no way he is gonna stick around that long.

if Pay-Loo
don’t feel confident in Daniel as starter, they will bring in someone else.
Not sure exactly how it will play out, though. Would they try to work a split season with Drew and Chase splitting snaps to see if he’s ready, or let CD get starter reps for first half of training camp with Brees acting as backup to see if he can cut it?
Great question for the offseason, although as you can see, I’m tempted to think about it now. But them team needs me to help them focus on Tennessee right now…
