Some confidence right thur!

And he said they were looking at building a 5000 seat stadium in that land between practice facility and zephyr field for the fans to see training camp practices better and maybe high school games. Sounds pretty sweet if it all works out.

be careful with the empty promises

All I can think of is his two-peat salute. If one keeps popping off like this all the time, one loses one’s credibility. Shut up and do it, talk about it later.

The first step to winning the Super Bowl

…is making a new deal with the players. You want another ring, Mr. Benson? It’s going to cost you.

It was good while it lasted.

Boom.

Rec’d it.

"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!! Brian Milne might've fallen on it at the ten yard line! It's the New Orleans Saints' football! Brian Milne, the most unlikely hero of them all, falls on the fumble, the muff by Hakim! There is a God after all!" -- Jim Henderson

Benson has been willing to spend on the players

Every one tries to bad mouth Mr. Benson about about spending money on players. The fact is the Saints have one of the highest paid rosters in the NFL and his only problem is the salary cap, which the team is constantly having to fight. The release of Shockey, a fan favorite, was because of cap realities. I think Mr. Benson has proven he is willing to spend to win.

The fact is the Saints have one of the highest paid rosters in the NFL

3rd highest in 2010 according to Triplett.

and his only problem is the salary cap, which the team is constantly having to fight.

There is no salary cap. There was no salary cap in 2010. It is very possible the owners and players will agree to have no salary cap for 2011.

I'm not accusing Benson of being cheap here

The fact is, there is no 2011 season, and no Super Bowl XLVI, until the owners and the players agree on a new deal. That’s in large part up to Tom Benson. If he wants another ring, he’s going to have to be willing to offer the players an equitable share of the NFL’s income…along with all the other owners. They can outvote Jerry, Jerry, and Dan…they just to have stare them down first.

It was good while it lasted.

Agreed, but if he is going to pop off with some wild statements, I’d rather it be about winning superbowls than making some embarrassing gaffe about the CBA negotions.

instead of saying we'll win the SB

he should be telling the owners to make a deal so that there will be a SB period. I love the confidence he is putting in our team but that confidence isn’t crap without games to play to back it up.

Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!

This question/scenario just popped into my head after i posted that

If there is a lockout for the beginning of the season to halfway of the season but the situation is resolved, will the NFL start at week 4(hypothetically) or will it start from week 1? Will they start a season if there isn’t a new CBA by the start of the season?
