Latest SB Nation Mock Draft Now Has Saints Taking LB Houston
Another version of SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft, another player selected for the Saints with the No. 24 overall pick.
First, it was defensive tackle Corey Liuget. Then it was running back Mark Ingram. They followed that with defensive tackle Stephen Paea. Last time they went with defensive end Ryan Kerrigan. And now, it's Georgia's Justin Houston:
24. New Orleans Saints: Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia. The oft-overlooked pass rusher out of Georgia has experience playing in space thanks to Georgia's 3-4, and his versatility will be a big selling point for coordinator Gregg Williams.
That's five different players after five mock draft versions. Added all up and they've got every significant position of need for the Saints covered.
Apparently, however, it's only because the stock of each of the previous mock picks simply continues to rise. All four are already off the board by the time the Saints are on the clock in this latest version of SB Nation's mock draft. With fewer options than before, Justin Houston is their best player available. Important to note: Cameron Heyward and Muhammad Wilkerson were still available.
Now what do you guys think? Are these SB Nation mocks indicative of what's happening in the real world?

No
Not one of these mocks have us taking a CB or WR. Dont they know Payloo never does what WE think they should do?

I’m fine with Houston, provided Ingram, Leshoure and Ayers aren’t on the board. I’d definitely prefer an OLB over a DE, since we haven’t lost any starters at DE. That’s assuming they’re within the same ballpark, in terms of projected overall talent.

I'll agree with you on all except Leshoure
I am really intrigued by Houston though, I think he could be a potential steal

That said, we’re only batting about .250 lifetime on draft picks from Georgia.
Jonathan Sullivan – hit into a triple play
Jon Stinchcomb – double
Charles Grant – triple
Terry Hoage – walk
Lindsay Scott – strike out
Nat Hudson – strike out
Paul Fersen – strike out
Royce Smith – strike out

3/7 is roughly .429
a walk doesn’t count towards a batter’s at-bat count.

He wont play lb for us. At least I hope not.
I rather have Ayers or Wilson at LB. He weighed in at 270 at the combine so unless they are putting him on Jennie Craig he has DE written all over him. I have no problem with this since I think its time to move Smith over to the strong side and give a young buck a shot at blind side pressure.
What in the HELL just happened!?

The problem is happening all over SBnation. I would have said something sooner but I assumed Dave had already been contacted on the matter.

yes, exactly
In the place up above you grow feather wings and you fly round and round, with a harp singing hymns.
The problem in this case appears to be Internet Exploder… which, for all the fact that I am a windoze man, is a pile of microshaft crap. Get firefox or chrome or something else decent.
I’ll second all that…
IE = crap
If you use RoboForm or are a web developer or like lots of plugins, FireFox is the way to go.
If you just browse the web without any extras, Chrome is definitly the way to go. If it wern;t for my plugins and RoboForm, I’d use Chrome.
Get FireFox (v4 was just released)

I'll definitely take Houston any day over Heyward. The fact that Wilkerson is still available is interesting though.
It’s a need vs BPA argument on the Wilkerson/Houston angle. Houston fits a much, much clearer need with his ability to play OLB as well as a Rush End on passing downs. But Wilkerson is a better value in my mind.

So you would take Wilkerson over Houston if given the chance, jeff?

Honestly I would probably select Houston over Wilkerson if given the choice. But honestly I could not fault the pick of Wilkerson in any way shape or form given this particular scenario.
