After seeing Aqib Talib's problems in TB, the #Saints' decision to select Tracy Porter in the 2nd Rd of the '08 draft looks better & better." -Jeff Duncan tweet
Aqib Talib is cooperating with Texas police investigating a March 21 incident for which the Bucs corner has been accused of pistol-whipping and shooting at his sister's boyfriend.
Talib's ... the key to Tampa's secondary as the "shadow" for opposing No. 1 receivers. Talib has 15 picks in his first 41 NFL games, and is one of the better run support corners in football. He'd also come on extremely strong in coverage over the last seven games after a slow start. - Rotoworld.com

I remember being thankful not selecting coming out as he had red flags all over him even then.

Child, please. We’ve had just as many character issues on this team as most others in the league. I can’t believe you still buy into their “we walk the higher road” spiel.

Carl Nicks had huge character concerns coming out of college
we got lucky with him. Bucs weren’t.
True…but it’s easier to toss the dice on a character guy in the mid to late rounds instead of the first.

We’ve been bitten in the past, as well. Keyuo Craver (another Nebraska guy) was a Loomis pick. Jammal Brown was charged with domestic abuse a few years back, as was Victor Riley. Deuce McAllister (Mueller pick, but retained), Charles Grant, Will Smith and Jamar Nesbitt, StarCaps. Bobby McCray, Jonathan Casillas and Ezra Butler, all DUIs. Grant and TUSK! both wrong place, wrong time? Lamar Smith was brought back despite two DUIs + paralyzing a teammate. Those two UDFA clowns that got caught urinating in public. Very Saintly behavior there. Shockey “dehydrates” at a party in Vegas. Hate when that happens. Hollis Thomas didn’t even bother fighting his suspension for questionable “asthma medication” ingredients. A vicodin scandal swept under the rug. Was Payton a Loomis hire? Yep. Julian Pittman is still making license plates last I heard, but that one’s pre-Loomis.

"In fact, Sterger claims that, in one of the photos Favre allegedly sent her, he's masturbating — while wearing a pair of Crocs"
Those character concerns were B.S.
Nicks got in trouble for being at some party that the cops busted up. It was nothing.

After refusing to disperse when instructed to do so. That’s not nothing.

It’s quite a bit less than pistol whipping your sister’s boyfriend or getting caught with a trunk full of purple drank. It’s the difference between getting a letter in your personnel file and a stern talking to vs. going to jail for a while and an indefinite league suspension.

Maybe his sister’s boyfriend was beating on his sister. Illegal or not, it doesn’t sound like something completely out of left field.

rotoworld.com:
Bucs CB Aqib Talib surrendered to Texas police Wednesday morning on charges of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released on $25,000 bond after two hours at the jail. Talib is in danger of a lengthy prison sentence in addition to league-imposed suspension once the lockout ceases. Commissioner Roger Goodell has made it clear that the league is logging all arrests as NFL players take on a “Wild Wild West” attitude with no Personal Conduct Policy currently in effect. A notch or two worse than “refusing to disperse”.

HEY that's my line
Here’s something a little more palatable, to you anyway.
Yahoo:
Police in a Dallas suburb say Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib has turned himself in on a warrant accusing him of firing a gun at his sister’s boyfriend. Police say they believe Talib and his mother, Okolo Talib, shot at the man March 21. The man was not injured. His mother, who faced a felon in possession of a firearm charge, turned herself in Tuesday and bonded out.
Nice parenting.

Of 32, the Mickey era Saints are pretty good guys. Upper quartile. I don’t know about higher road, I think it’s a practical ($$) matter. You can’t play if you’re in jail. And Mickey would rather not have Herr Goodell all up in his bidness.

Not inconceivably potentially maybe upper quartile good guys. Definitely top 32.

Won't hold
judgement on the guy until ALL of the facts come out. Like CP said maybe his sister’s boyfriend was beating her or something. If so honestly I see nothing wrong with protecting your kin from domestic violence. But if it was just an argument they had its totally different.

of course he's innocent until proven guilty
But Mom is going to have a tough time beating her charge. This is from a complaint by the boyfriend, remember. They allegedly shot at him and missed.

Tracy Porter wouldn’t have missed.

Tracy Porter wouldn’t have missed….Roman Harper would have shot in the opposite direction.

Scott Shanle would have shot his sister’s ex-boyfriend, who was still her boyfriend at the time he took aim.

Bill Gramatica would have shot the kid dead-on…then tripped and shot himself while celebrating.

Hope you’re joking….as i looked up tender Roni and it means “younger love interest”. You’re just not my type.
For making fun of my more girly/tender nature…i prefer to be called over-sensitve Shirley.

It was in reference to the sensitivity you were exhibiting, as well as an old Bobby Brown song. I had no idea what the actual meaning of the lyrics/term were. Assumed it was just some chick named Roni that he was singing to.
