"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

No RBs taken in Round 1
On Peter Kings Mock Draft in this weeks Sports Illustrated. Has us taking Adrian Clayborn
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
King has little credibility
Ever since he ranked us as the no. 24 team at the beginning of the 2009 season, I tend to doubt his prognostications.

So says a Saints fan.
Be honest…given our year previous…it would have been hard pressed for anyone outside of a Saints fan to have ranked the team in the top 15.
"Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself.' And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked 'em up."
A #1 offense two out of three years, a QB clearly already ready to join the “elite two” (at that point, it was just Brady and Manning), at least a decent OL, a pretty decent receiving corps… etc… and no reason to expect the offense to fall off.
A team that lost, what, 6 games by 3 or less points the year previously? Something like that.
And a defense that literally HAD to improve, because it couldn’t get any worse. New DC who was highly respected coming in preaching that he’s “not a savior” to try to tone down expectations, even as everybody knew full well that things all-but-literally COULDN’T get any worse.
Add all that up and yeah I could have predicted top-15. Not much higher, mind you. Top-10 would have been right out. But top-15 wouldn’t have been a stretch at all. And definitely higher than 20. Two functional brain cells to rub together would be enough to figure THAT much out.
Remember that list
He put the Saints 24th, but in his opening paragraph said that his biggest factor was quarterbacks.
I don’t care if he puts the Saints low, but at least be consistent in your logic.
And he also basically believes whatever any front office tells him re: the draft.

and no reason to expect the offense to fall off.
No reason to expect it to improve, either. I mean, it’s not like Mike Bell had done anything special in Denver. Not enough to lead anyone to believe that Sean Payton would actually begin to value the run, for the first time in three years. Fortunately, he did and that — along with the good fortune of facing an unusual amount of inexperienced QBs (one of the few factors that most certainly COULD have been predicted) — is what ultimately kept us in several “close throughout” games we probably would have lost otherwise.

Congrats…you’re obviously very much correct. I’ll leave you and your two functional brain cells to enjoy the company of Mr. Hindsight.

The reason why he gets lost is he’s merely an onlooker enjoying the spectacle of insane fans drooling over somebody for no reason whatsoever. He knows full well he’s not drafting the guy, he’s just coming to watch the show… much like people turn their heads to stare at car wrecks as they drive by.
missed it
but now I see that he’s looking away from the direction everyone else is looking…why? What does he see that they don’t?

He’s dreaming up more passing plays, so Ingram won’t feel overappreciated.
