2011 NFL Mock Draft: The Chicago Bears Select...
With the twenty-ninth pick of the 2011 CSC Community Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears (represented by GRIZZ) select...
Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
The Chicago Bear's offensive line was a disaster this past year, allowing Jay Cutler to be sacked seemingly at the defenses will. Fifty-two times he was sacked, more than any quarterback in the league and twelve more than second place Joe Flacco. During Cutler's three years in Denver he got sacked 51 times, since then (2 years in Chicago) that number has soared to 87! Now that's a quarterback that needs some protection...and along comes young Gabe Carimi to save his crying butt.
Carimi could possibly step in and start right away, I'm no Bears fan, but I can tell you I've never even heard of Frank Omiyale or J'Marcus Webb (and I don't trust anyone named J'Marcus or any spelling of that name). The inside of the line isn't too bad with an aging Olin Kreutz at center, Chris Williams and Roberto Garza on either side of him. If they can also pick up a RT (or LT depending on how Carimi progresses) during free agency, this line could do a complete 180*.
The Bears have a few other positions they need to address. They could use a No. 1 wide receiver, seeing as Johnny Knox and Devin Hester are more suited for No, 2 and KR/PR duties. On the defensive side of the ball, their linebacking corp is aging and they have recently released DT Tommie Harris so those are two other possible positions of interest. At this point in the draft they could also take the following players: WR Leonard Hankerson from Miami, LB Akeem Ayers from UCLA or DT Stephen Paea from Oregon State.
Offensive tackles aren't the prettiest draft picks, but they can be the driving force behind a beautiful future.
Thanks to all the CSC members who participated in this years community mock draft. Without your help, none of this would be possible.

Yeah Da Bears have to address the O-Line.
Urlacker’s getting old too, but they have to keep Cutler upright if they are going to go anywhere.

this picture was all I needed to see to be sold on him as a Steelers lineman

You show me a guy with a giant axe, I’ll show you a man who can play for the Steelers

i think this guy could hold a giant axe...

My, philosophy is, basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't, ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who or who you are with, or or where you are going, or, or where you've been. Ever. For any reason. Whatsoever.
It won't show up on my computer for some reason
