Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Says all the right things. Looks like he has a chip on his shoulder too.

"I'm gonna prove why I deserved to be drafted higher," Wilson said

Although Wilson (6 feet 4, 250 pounds) admitted that he doesn’t have much experience covering tight ends, he said, “I’m gonna try to learn it. I’m an athlete. And as the coaches show me proper technique and teach me, I’m gonna learn it.”

Don’t listen to Shanle!

If I am good I could add years to my life / I would rather add some life to my years.

I don’t know about that. Shanle does what they ask him to do. He just does it later than many of us want him to do it. His detractors want him to make the stop in two yards and he does it in five, they want it in five and he does it in eight… etc.

He’s not STUPID, he’s just old and slowing down. And he was never lightning fast to begin with.

In many ways, I think the situation compares to Jeremy Shockey and Jimmy Graham last year. Jeremy was pretty decent but not great (certainly at least no longer great), and was clearly slowing down as his injury history took its toll. But he was still somewhat effective. Shanle is basically the same guy, smart, works hard, tries hard, and only partially effective. That’s a heck of a lot better than completely non-effective, and even when it’s not, it still doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a brain that can help pass on some veteran tips to the newbie.

So I could see Shanle as a decent mentor for the new guy.

I'm good with that...
Compares to: Karlos Dansby, Dolphins – Like the Dolphins’ steady inside ‘backer, Wilson is tall and has long arms. He said in his ideal role, he’d also play outside at times and be allowed to rush off the edge.

My, philosophy is, basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't, ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who or who you are with, or or where you are going, or, or where you've been. Ever. For any reason. Whatsoever.
