Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Mark Ingram seems like he will be the real deal. He seems like he will be a great asset and in many ways just what we needed, and let's not get into the Tusk- PT-Reggie debate, let's just go with the flow on this that we needed a RB like Ingram. I think he was a good choice.

So, 1) why didn't we draft him at 23 instead of Cameron Jordan?

2) why did we draft at first pick a player that is highly respected but is evaluated to never be a sack specialist?

weren't we looking to put pressure on the QB and be able to do it without the blitz? What would be the down side of picking Ingram at 23? Is Jordan going to be another Will Smith or Alex Brown or what's his name we cut last year? Do we really need another DE whose specialty is stopping the run? Dont we have that? What makes us think he will produce sacks which is arguably this team's largest need?
