According to last night's edition of the Top 100 Players of 2011, the Saints have 5 players on the list. Since none of them have yet been named, that means that all of them are in the top 70. Is this surprising to you? It is to me. While there's no doubt that Drew Brees is going to land in the top 10 (maybe 15), who else from the New Orleans team ranks among the top 4% of NFL players? I can think of perhaps two or three, and for the last several hours I've been trying to figure out who else might be on the list. I think there are three "no-brainers", though I'm a bit surprised that all three would be above players like Greg Jennings and Joshua Cribbs. But do the Saints really have 5 players that are better than Mario Williams???? I've been trying to figure out who the fifth player is all night - and I want to hear who you folks think belongs there. Brees, Vilma, J. Evans, and maybe Nicks belong on the list. Who else could possibly be there? Does anyone here honestly think that Colston is a better receiver than Greg Jennings? Or that Will Smith is a better DE than Jared Allen? Is it really possible that the NFL players consider Reggie Bush a top 100 player, when the majority of Saints fans don't consider him even a top 40 player of the Saints?
