In response to the news today that a new CBA is incredibly close to getting worked out, the NFL and the trade association formerly known as the NFLPA released another one of their joint statements on the matter:
The discussions this week have been constructive and progress has been made on a wide range of issues. Our legal and financial teams will continue to work through the weekend. We will continue to respect the confidentiality orders of Chief Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan and will therefore refrain from commenting on specific issues or aspects of the negotiations. We will provide additional information as developments in this process continue.
Not sure what the point of this joint statement is because it doesn't seem to telling us anything of importance. In fact, I'm not even sure why they even wasted their time putting this together and releasing it when they should be using their time to get a damn deal done.
Quit releasing stupid statements and get 'er done already!
