I caught this and thought it was too funny not to post.
Like many fans, Mike Florio isn't very happy with Drew Brees and his apparent attempt to exempt himself from a franchise tag. Brees has since denied any such actions but Florio isn't necessarily buying it and In an article posted on Pro Football Talk at 8:20pm EST, Florio explains what he thinks Brees should really tell fans if he's truly innocent of any wrongdoing:
Brees could easily clear this up with a much more pointed tweet. For example, all Brees needs to say is this: "I want no special treatment. This was never about me. This is about all players, past, present, and future."
And apparently Brees is listening because at 8:55pm EST, a little more than 30 minutes after Florio's suggested apology, Drew tweeted this:
I want no special perks. My job is to get a fair deal for all players, and I am proud to represent them all - past, present and future
Man, that sounds really familiar. Wonder where I've heard that before? Seriously Drew, perhaps you, or the person being paid to tweet for you, could be a little more original. Otherwise, I'm going to have a hard time believing what you say.
