NFL LOCKOUT UPDATE: Start of Free Agency Likely Delayed...Again

Yesterday morning I pointed out that the start of the free agency period, which will begin with a three-day exclusive period for teams to sign their own free agents, was likely going to be pushed back from its originally anticipated July 22nd start date to a later date of Monday, July 25th.

This morning, it's looking like I have more news of delays to pass along. Now, instead of anticipating the start of free agency to be on July 25th, that three-day exclusive free agency period is more likely going to start two days later on Wednesday, July 27th.

Jason LaCanfora reports via Twitter:

GMs and cap guys I've talked to have said reports...Of free agent activity beginning Mon, as some have professed, are "overly aggressive." They think maybe 72hr period to sign and cut your own...Players would possibly begin next Wednesday, with full-blown free agency beginning that Fri/Saturday

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Granted it's only another two days to wait, the constant push backs and hold-ups only get more and more frustrating, particularly since we continue to hear how close a new deal is to finally get completed. We can only hope this is the final delay and that free agency will truly begin next week at the latest.

My Patience and Optimism are running extremely thin!

I’m telling you they’re playing us! This should have been resolved back in April, no later than May. See what happens when you throw Politicians in the mix?

I’m disgusted with all of them.

That's interesting. You know what makes me sad? YOU DO!!! Maybe we should chug on over to mambypandyland...or maybe we can find some self confidence for you YA JACKWAGON!!!!!!

Once we have football again (in any form) the pain in everyone’s short term memory will fade and it will be business as usual.

Don’t trust anything Jason LaCan’tforyou says. He’s an idiot. Reported by multiple others is that if the CBA is ratified Thrusday, teams will have 3 days to digest the rules. Once those 3 days are up, they’ll have an additional 3 days to “exclusively” re-sign their own or cut their own. Once 6 days have passed, then the FA we all want will start.

Who’s making burgers?

Maybe MARY JANE will load up and pass the PEACE PIPE around the conference room and they’ll all get happy in a big hurry, which might just help speed up the process. - HansDat

Do you two not have air conditioning? I agree about grilling your burger, don’t get me wrong. My question is why your “whole house” is heating up because of it? You may wan’t to consider zoning your house.

lol naw not the whole house.

but the living room isnt to far from the kitchen and dining room. it does get warm. and i dont know about others but around here its toping 105 on a daily basis and the heat index is hovering around 112 to 118. so ya either turn up the airconditioner a bit or have it run constantly. (yes we have insulation and decent windows and such). its just a bitch out lately.

we have the central HVAC system

but our kitchen is kinda not insulated well and gets pretty cold in winter and pretty warm in the summer, and when we fire up the oven or stove top it further warms up things and we think it has some impact on areas near the kitchen (dining room, living room).

I installed a Geo Thermal system in 2004

Still it has been so hot, (Running aroud 105 here in FS, AR, with the associated Heat Index), that my June electric bill was what I normally get in August. My house is well insulated also, but I’ve had to turn my termostat up to 78 from my normal 74 degrees to try to cut back. Doubt this will help much because it also runs constantly after about noon. Atleast it is cycling off later in the day and evenings. Hope in breaks before football season actually begins.If/When. Get’ur’Done.

I wasn’t joking about Zoning your house. It’s installed into the existing ductwork and the dampers themselves aren’t overly expensive. When you come home from work and turn on your lights, does every light in the house come on? What about when you are washing dishes, is the water running in every sink? I wont go on and on about this subject. I do suggest for those of you having problems to google it.

Agree with this. Throwing away the aluminum foil is a lot easier than washing greasy dishes.
