dkaplanSBJ – NFLN also now following AP report that there will be no players vote today.

Both right.
News came out first that the vote today wasn’t on the CBA. Then came out the players have new unresolved issues.

ummm….
one says no vote today
one says a vote happened today
are they talking about two different voting matters?

Yes.
One vote was supposed to approve the CBA and send it to the owners. That didn’t happen today.
Instead, the players gave permission to the NFLPA heads to approve a deal for them, whenever they work out a deal they like.

To help/hinder the clarity…per Mortensen: Majority player reps have left; gave De Smith & committee “vote of confidence” to finish final deal points. Vote can be via conference call.
So as you stated…players voted to give the NFLPA heads the right to move forward on the deal when the sticking points have been clarified and a final vote with the 32 heads can be done via a phone call. So progress…just not finalized progress.
"Winter is coming"
Exactly. Problem now is that there are more unresolved issues which may hold up more talks.
Blaaahhhh

From what I read, the unresolved issues were already known to be unresolved and the NFLPA was still working with the owners to get clarity put to paper. So hopefully not as sticky an issue as we might fear.
"Winter is coming"
Let's hope so.
Also, an optimistic Jeff? That’s new.

No…i’m a realist. Realism says they aren’t going to jeopardize preseason games and a billion dollar preseason revenue. It’ll get done probably sometime early to mid of next week.
