Now you know why Reggie Bush's $16.0M cap hit is so important. The #Saints can create another $12 million by cutting Bush.— Jeff Duncan (@JeffDuncan_) July 21, 2011
Rotoworld.com: The Saints can create $12 million in room under the salary cap by releasing Reggie Bush after the lockout. They're not trading him, and they're probably not bringing him back on a restructured contract, either. Bush will hit the market after he's cut and likely find a team willing to pay him considerably more than New Orleans. Per ESPN.com's projections, Bush's release would bring the Saints to $23.7 million under the cap. Cutting Randall Gay would save even more. Source: Jeff Duncan on Twitter Jul 20, 11:46 PM John Clayton: The numbers just don't work. Bush is scheduled to make $11.8 million this year and has a bloated $16 million cap number. The Saints have $11.7 million of cap room. Something has to give. They also have 26 unrestricted free agents.
