NFL LOCKOUT UPDATE: Owners Getting Ready to Vote
NFL owners are meeting as we speak in Atlanta and are about ready to vote to hopefully approve the negotiated settlement.
So far, things are looking good. The return of NFL football as we know it is imminent. I can smell it.
Albert Breer is on the scene and has first hand observations, via his Twitter account:
Owners going on a 10-minute break now...The owners, execs still look very relaxed, at ease on this break. Like it's a fait accompli....I'm told the owners will be voting "very soon" on the settlement ... Finishing up a break now.

This is the scariest 4 month movie I ever seen! Even scarier than this movie.

That's interesting. You know what makes me sad? YOU DO!!! Maybe we should chug on over to mambypandyland...or maybe we can find some self confidence for you YA JACKWAGON!!!!!!

I smell something, but not sure if it's football.
It doesn’t have a football leathery smell. Seems more like sweaty jockstrap. Or, it could be the smell of Jerry Richardson finally unclenching the cheeks of his fat ass. Whatever it is, I’ll wait until the CBA ink is dry before getting my hopes up.

This break … Which NFL folks were telling people would be 10 minutes … Is now at 45 minutes or so.

reportedly have scheduled a conference call for 8 p.m. ET this evening. Meanwhile…the owners long “break” continues at this point…

Player rep conference call still set for 8, but could be pushed back ostensibly, with settlement talks ongoing and owner’s vote on hold

that would make this the best birthday ever.
You know, in Japan a round of golf cost $12,000. You play from rooftop to rooftop and the balls are made of rice somehow. then when you're done you've gotta go home and sleep in a tube.

Looks like owners will approve deal with condition that NFLPA re-certify within a short period of time. Has to be days, not weeks. #nfl

Talk now is the 2 sides may vote at the same time. League would give players a set number of days to re-form as a union.
