rotoworld.com:
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer has spoken with two Eagles sources who gave an “emphatic no” when asked if they are targeting Brett Favre to back up Michael Vick.
Glazer says he’s attempting to “end the uproar now,” but it’s never that easy with Favre. And we’ve learned to believe nothing the Eagles say on potential trades and signings. Vick did not help matters Sunday when he tweeted he’d be “honored” to have Favre as his backup. Many observers have stated that they could never see Favre accepting a backup role, but that would seem to underestimate his appetite for money and/or a revision of his legacy. While the odds appear long that Favre ends up in Philly, you don’t need to be reminded of his habit for defying long odds.

I honestly don’t understand what’s so far fetched about that. If he recognizes he’s not the same QB he once was to the extent of considering retirement, why wouldn’t he recognize it to the extent of accepting a backup role? Jeff George went that route for a number of years and he was 5x the self-centered a-hole Favre is, imo.

She’s a breast cancer survivor. That’s far more life threatening than running low on trail mix.

Favre’s GIGANTIC ego prevents him from ever helping anyone but himself. Ask Aaron Rodgers.

That’s two entirely different scenarios. Rodgers was after his starting job. He wouldn’t have a starting job as a backup. He also wouldn’t be expected to help or tutor Vick. Vick’s a proven veteran player. He’d merely be holding a clipboard, unless called upon to take the field. It’s 2011.

Rotoworld.com:
Brett Favre – QB – Vikings Brett Favre’s agent said rumors that his client will be attempting yet another comeback is just “speculation.”
Bus Cook said that he hasn’t spoken to Favre about any comeback and to his knowledge, Favre “hasn’t talked to anybody else about a comeback” either. The comeback rumor floated by Philadelphia sports radio personality Howard Eskin has been shot down from all angles. Despite Favre’s history, we’d be very surprised to see him in the Eagles’ — or anyone else’s — training camp.

Personally, I think it makes sense...
…two of the biggest douchebags to ever play the game on the roster of the team whose fans are infamous for being…well…douchebags (beating up Santa Claus, throwing “snowballs” with objects like batteries in them at opposing team’s players during games…).
…heck, that’d almost get them to Cowpatty levels of douchedom…
