New Orleans Saints Negotiate Contracts with Ten Undrafted Free Agents

PrintIt's going to get incredibly hectic all across the NFL today when the start of the 2011 free agency period kicks off at 10 a.m. EST this morning. In fact, the action really started last night when teams began negotiating contracts with undrafted free agents.
In true form, the Saints wasted no time negotiating contracts with a whopping ten undrafted free agents. In case you were sleeping, here's a rundown of those players who the Saints will reportedly bring into training camp:
Saints Negotiate Contract with Safety DeAndre McDaniel
Saints Negotiate Contract with Safety Isa Abdul-Quddus
Saints Negotiate Contract with Wide Receiver DeAndre Brown
Saints Negotiate Contract with Wide Receiver John Chiles
Saints Negotiate Contract with Wide Receiver Jarred Fayson
Saints Negotiate Contract with Wide Receiver Joe Morgan
Saints Negotiate Contract with Linebacker Jeremiha Hunter
Saints Negotiate Contract with Linebacker Kolby Hurt
Saints Negotiate Contract with Defensive Tackle Dexter Larimore
Saints Negotiate Contract with Quarterback Ryan Colburn
Loomis was on fire last night as Jon Banks and I struggled to get the news of each signing on Da Chronic's front page. Given how good the Saints have been at finding legitimate talent through undrafted free agency, it's quite possible that at least one of these names may become a household Who Dat name. The DeAndre McDaniel pickup, however, could be the most promising.
Keep in mind none of these signings is official yet and there are even rumors that DeAndre Brown might be headed elsewhere (Indy or Philly). The Saints may also sign even more undrafted free agents today, so keep your eyes peeled and your wits about you at all times.

Moore yes, Harper no. I’m thinking Moore and Roby could both be gone if one or two of these UDFAs work out. I’m no Harper fan, but I think the coaching staff is. That’s just a position they really need depth at. I’d be more worried about Pierson Prioleau.

Team really needs to improve special teams coverage. Also, no one throws more in camp than the Saints, and they typically bring 11 WR’s to camp for these purposes, per Jeff Duncan’s twitter.

Hey may have commited to us, but did not sign anything. That was all story and speculation as of last night.
Any one of these guys can sign with whomever, it was 10:00am this morning when they could sign officially. I am sure other names you have no heard of yet to sign with us today or tomorrow.
