Any word on whether we're in the running for Mebane?

questions for the crowd. i would be happy at 5pm tommorrow if:
1. We signed this non-saints free agent
2. We signed this saints free agent
3. We lost this saints free agent
1. Cullen Jenkins and/or Manny Lawson (no rumors here, just a dream)
2. Harper.. (Q:who else is there?)
3. Not really wanting anyone else to go, but some will have to.

2. Harper
3. Ayodele (Although I guess he’s basically gone now)

I would rather Dave Thomas over Harper if I had to make a choice (knock on wood). I love Jimmy Graham, but he’s still young…

Bucs Nation doesn't seem to think much of our moves ....
The Saints have been very active in free agency, signing multiple older players to boost their depth. It started with former Seahawk Will Herring, an unremarkable linebacker who should be in New Orleans for depth purposes. Then, they re-signed Lance Moore, one of Drew Brees’ favorite options and a very reliable route runner. They also re-signed arguably their worst cornerback Leigh Torrence, who should mostly provide depth and special teams play. They then re-signed Jermon Bushrod as well, a below-average left tackle who is better than any other option they have. Then, they also re-signed Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Scott Shanle, Danny Clark and Chris Reis, as well as releasing Randall Gay.
After that onslaught of re-signing lower-end players, the Saints also made one bigger move: they traded away Reggie Bush to the Dolphins. It’s not clear at this point what they got for him, though the deal supposedly included Jonathon Amaya, another lower-end player. The Saints made a lot of moves, but none of them big.
All in all, pretty clueless on their part, IMHO.
I think they are really underrating our people,
but it’s true that we aren’t making any big splashes. But as Ralph pointed out earlier, when do the Saints make a big impact?

I feel like this offseason is more aobut triming the fat
I think injury and poor decision making were the main reasons we weren’t as successful last year as we could have been. So we need to get rid of players that don’t do anything, and make sure we have solid backups for the players that do, in case they get injured.
I also think we had a major hole at the LB position last year, and this was a big contributor to the suckiness last year. Hopefully, the draft, plus all these resignings fixes that.

I have a serious question about Will Herring.
the first one would have to be who the heck is the guy. Is he going to be a camp body to halp facilitate competition for others such as Wilson. Or does he represent an insurance policy for the Saints Org to negotiate Martez wilson’s contract lower that what it shoud be?

He was Seattle’s 4th LB in a 4-3 system last year. He got situational play but should be more for depth on the Saints roster.

I really do not want the falcons to get him is all.
The picks they gave up during the draft would not hurt them as much if they get him to fill their DE need. However If they do not get him, the WILL regret trading all of those picks away.

I like all the moves so far.
I would have liked the Saints to have kept Remi our NT, however that turned into a situation like Fujita did when the Browns offered him a deal he could not refuse. I am estatic about Deandre Mc Daniel. For the first time in several years it appears that the Saints have signed people who can not only perform in their postion, but can make an immediate impact on special teams.

Question:
How much is Chad Ochocinco going to have to pay Aaron Hernandez for the rights to that #85 jersey in New England?
When you change you name to fit your jersey number you really put yourself in a bad negotiating position when situations like this arise.

What do you think about the Texans signing Jonathan Joseph?
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
I LOVE IT.
I wanted them to either get Nnamdi, or JJ. They both had their pros and cons. JJ is better long term and is cheaper now. now they can sign a safety and really improve their secondary to top 20 maybe even top 15.

Dude, we need to keep the Texans in mediocrity. We can beat Peyton’s ego. We’ll have trouble with a balanced Texans offense and a Texans defense with actual CB’s who can cover.

I'm a fan of the Texans.
I’ve grown up in Houston most of my life, and was young when the Texans just started. I don’t want them in medicrity. Besides, I have a LOT more faith in the Saints over the Texans. Did you see that preseason game last year? The Saints had to put the backups in early because we were kicking them around so bad.

From what has happened so far, and what might happen
I want yall to comment about preseason favorites for the SB……
I’m thinking Patriots v. Eagles, because Patriots got a downfield reciever and a (potentially) dominant DT….Eagles because they just got a really good young cornerback in DRC to pair alongside Asante, which helps out their porous secondary

I think Mike Vick
Will have a down year. He set the world on fire last year both rushing (which he’s always done) and passing (which he’s never done). I think his passing numbers will drop. Let’s also not forget that last year was the first time he played as much as he did in a LONG time. He might not have those fresh legs this season
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
Oh and Eagles
are gonna make money off of someone next offseason too by keeping Vince Young fresh…..they just keep adding tradeable QBs to their roster for next to no cost
The Easter Bunny is a savage...
I think DRC and Asante are equally over paid over hyped no man coverage skills zone easy to expose CB’s.

The Sacramento Bee reports Michael Crabtree could miss 4-6 weeks of training camp and preseason action with a foot injury that kept him out of player-organized workouts.
In other words, Crabtree is going to miss his third straight preseason. The injury is to the same foot that Crabtree had surgically repaired prior to the 2009 draft, though it’s not certain if it’s an aggravation or a separate ailment. Either way, it’s serious enough that the 49ers will pursue a veteran receiver to fill in opposite Josh Morgan. They reportedly in on Chad Ochocinco. The recovery timetable leaves Crabtree questionable for Week 1. He could’ve used the reps to work on his failed chemistry with Alex Smith. We don’t trust the 49ers QB situation or Crabtree’s foot.

after months of the battle of billionaires vs. millionares, we’re paying some attention to the little people. Davin Joseph’s deal put a small dent in my excitement since it will obviously make resigning Nicks that much harder, but he’s worth the money obviously. Though with Nicks, Brees, Colston, and Porter all available next offseason, PayLoo has alot of high-profile work up ahead sooner than some realize. As if he doesn’t have enough work already.

Its having a more comedic affect then I anticipated, glad to know it helps crack a few smiles. Though it seemed to cause nightmares to other, for which I can’t blame them.
But I am serious about my fear for next offseason lol, mainly because I heard the rumor/talk of Colston possibly holding out, which I assumed was beyond him. I am not trying to be pessimistic in any way, as I am still celebrating Sproles signing more than I should and still hoping for Culling Jenkins with Roman Harper resigning. I just would hate to see the business side of football ruin all that the front office has worked to build. Then again, I have a penchant to worry too much.
