Twitter - GAAA!! I sure wish I could figure out a way to block the Twittertubes permanently. (Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty Images)

The Saints will have practice indoors this afternoon, and following daily practices from Monday through Thursday, the team will travel to Houston on Friday in preparation for Saturday's game against the Texans.

Today's Fleur-de-Links brings you more wrap-up from the 49ers game, along with some player feature articles, a Saints 2011 fantasy football video, and some tweets to wet your whistle.

Be sure to check back tonight for the post-practice recap, ok?

Yeah

I’m going with Mama’s boy also. Played like he might want to stay with the Saints. I just wonder if he’s got " BADASS" inked across his chest?

I started the game @ 2:30 and just finished it

Joique looked really good – I need to add him as a write-in candidate above

OL looked pretty bad most of the game

and we’ve got to correct those dropped passes (Ingram, Meach…I’m looking at you)

Thumbs up, everybody...

by Hans Petersen on Aug 14, 2011 3:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Just finished here

Of course we are on different time zones. I started about 2;30 also an hour behind U.
Yeah I’m quickly becoming a Joique convert. Special Teams started off pretty good then got a little sloppy at times. OL definitely needs to tighten up. Was impressed with both Daniels and Canfield. They really did pretty good considering I was having Archie flashbacks with the O-Line protections, or lack there of.
I was most impressed with the Defensive performance through out the game. It’s going to be tough, and wouldn’t have believed I would be saying this, when we have to release some of these guys. Worst thing is some of them are going to be picked up by other teams, with them knowing our scheme.

M Jenkins has no thigh pads and tiny shoulder pads

I am always amazed at how a lot of players have minimal padding. I know it’s because of speed and agility reasons, but could it contribute to the # of injuries in the NFL?

Have you ever seen more gray hair on a guy than Roman Harper? Also, any word on how serious Johnny Patrick’s injury was? It didn’t look real bad, but he was carted away tp the locker room.

Chase Daniel

The defense was awesome as a unit and I see why they cut LB Clark but the team that scores the most points win which is why I voted for Chase Daniel. His poise was suprisingly like that of a 5-7 yr vet and his ability to move in the pocket and throw bullseyes made me think he was Brees of a couple of years ago. Yeah it was the 1st “preseason” game but considering Brees and alot of his teammates were one of the first teams in an organized “camp” during the lockout, he seem easily rattled. A few plays you can tell that particular play was designed for the “deep route”, but when rushed he was almost like a rookie and instead of throwing the short pass to the wide open RB 3-5 yds away, by this time the defensive man is in his face and he throws short(almost intercepted) balls that fall short to the WR 10+ yds down field. C’mon Brees you’re scaring me a little… Maybe you miss Colston and Bush(Miami) but Chase Daniel didn’t mind having those recievers so……. I don’t know….. I think beginning w/Packers, teams are going to send blitzers from all over and rattle Brees like Browns, Ariz and others did last year and hopefully the results are different/better. LETS GO BREES…. SNAP OUT OF IT AND GET THIS TROPHY…….AGAIN!!!

Voted on Joe Morgan BUT...

Gregg Williams had the entire defense ready! He had the players in the right spots. He gets my game ball. I expect Joe Morgan needs more offensive production to be considered for a team spot. But a great start for Joe Morgan!

by Lostastic on Aug 14, 2011 5:34 PM CDT reply actions

Harper, Smith, King, Bell, Morgan,Casillas, Patrick, Roby and a few others, but the ones that really did good as far as staying on the team for at least another week were, King, Bell,Roby and Morgan.

by tommy v on Aug 14, 2011 5:38 PM CDT reply actions

Ingram made a TD, and I know he is staying, but I expected a touchdown from him so it was nothing special. I know there will be a whole lot more of those to come from him.

by tommy v on Aug 14, 2011 5:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Voted Casillas

but was much impressed with King, Joique Bell, Joe Morgan(although he did drop that pass) and several others on defense. Wish I could remember all the defensive players that made plays and that says it all doesn’t it.

by saints whoaday on Aug 14, 2011 6:56 PM CDT reply actions

Watched the rest last night, and liked what I saw for the most part.

Casillas was all over the place making plays, so was Johnny Patrick.

Daniel looked pretty good at QB.

Loved the D line play… lots of plays where I said, “Awesome! Who was that guy?”

(I need a to print out a list of players and their numbers to help me keep up.)
