How's this for a shocker? The Saints released Jon Stinchcomb today. The news comes via the New Orleans Saints Twitter:
Coach Payton announced after practice that the team released OT Jon Stinchcomb
Needless to say, I'm shocked. However, this must mean that Payton has a lot of faith in Zach Strief or Charles Brown. Or that Stinchcomb can't get back to his old self. Either way, the O-line will be changed from years past with two positions now different from the past two years.
The official reason the Saints released him comes from Jeff Duncan:
Payton: the decision to release Stinchcomb was made to go w/younger players. Zach Strief & Charles Brown will compete for the starting spot
We'll all have to wait and see how this plays out. Good luck to Stinchcomb. Let's hope he lands on his feet somewhere.
