So most of you by now have probably gone ahead and joined your traditional snake-draft leagues and are furiously planning your strategies! Well, how about adding another dimension to your draft prep? Auction leagues can be some of the most fun, and most rewarding systems out there. Going into the draft every team has a shot at any player! How many times have you said to yourself, "Boy, I wish I could grab Adrian Peterson, but I have the 10th pick!"? Well, now you don't have to worry about that!
I'm going to run our community's first (as far as I know) auction (and keeper PPR) league! I'm still undecided as to how many teams we'll field, but I'll determine that based on interest. So if you want in let me know in the comments by leaving an e-mail address you feel comfortable making public. League particulars after the jump!
This is also going out to my Facebook and Twitter feeds, so if you've come to this post via either of those, you're welcome to join as well! Sign up for Canal Street Chronicles and let me know you want in, or contact me via those services!
Some league rules you'll need to know:
Maximum of four keepers going into next year at the price of what you got them for in the draft plus four dollars.
Starting draft budget will be 200 dollars.
One point per reception.
One tenth of a point for each receiving yard. (One point per ten yards! Like usual, don't let the math scare you. It prevents ties)
One tenth of a point for each rushing yard.
Four hundredths of a point for each passing yard (Fear not the maths! It's still one point per 25 yards).
Four points per passing TD.
Six points for running and receiving TDs.
So if you have any other questions, please don't be afraid to ask! I want this to be a fun experience for everyone, so you can expect great transparency in the league office, and lots of info on any potential rule changes!
So... You sold yet?!
