Saints Release Lynell Hamilton

The New Orleans Saints have released Running Back Lynell Hamilton. The news comes via Larry Holder:

#Saints release RB Lynell Hamilton.
"Wow" was the first words out of my mouth. The backfield was crowded, but most figured Sean Payton would rather a crowded backfield than an empty one. This news must mean that Payton was no longer impressed with the young back, or that he thinks he only needs Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory, and Darren Sproles.

This could just be the Saints needing room, and Hamilton was the only one they felt they could cut. Of course with many UDFA camp bodies, that theory doesn't hold much water. This move was just kind of a shock, and it will be interesting if he can find a spot with another team quickly. Here's hoping for some good luck to come to Hamilton for once.
