2011 Free Agency Update: Saints Re-Sign DE Jeff Charleston
As MtnExile has already posted in a Fanshot over an hour ago...nola.com is reporting that the New Orleans Saints have re-signed free agent defensive end Jeff Charleston. Nice work, M-E.
Mike Triplett posted this at 4:28 pm CST:
The New Orleans Saints re-signed backup defensive end Jeff Charleston, who has been with the team since 2008. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder has been an effective pass rusher in spurts. He had three sacks and two forced fumbles last season.
To make room, the Saints released defensive end Curtis Johnson.
No details on the contract minutiae yet, so stay tuned for updates.

Yeah, you're right
She does bear a slight resemblance around the eyes.
Although….my all-time favorite redhead was a young lady who sold cars at Mossy Olds on Broad in the mid ’80’s.
I've got two words for ya.....Whit Bissell
goodness… who is that?

The red head from True Blood is pretty cute too.

“goodness… who is that?”
nevermind… looked it up
That pic doesn’t even look like any of the other pics of her.

Whenever I think of Jeff Charleston...
I always just remember him yelling “SHIRT OFF!!” in the locker room after the Super Bowl.

No Hall Of Fame post? I was expecting an open thread or at least a write up on it. Ehh, expectations are overrated. Anyone else watching the induction?
I'm watching the HOF inductions
while compiling the post-practice report
liked Faulk’s speech and Deion’s on now…

Only had one problem with Primes Speech....
And it’s probably just schematics. I don’t get the ashamed of my momma part. I’d have probably said ashamed for my momma. And he did get a little preachy, but I guess that’s OK. If you have a platform; use it. Also didn’t think his bust looked much like him. The Dew rag did help.

I just felt like his delivery was fake. The whole “momma” speech he sounded like he was going to cry yet his eyes weren’t even shiny. At least do what the girl on Grey’s Anatomy does for a crying scene and hit a doobie first.
yeah and
he had to turn away for the fake cry on the post ceremony interview.

Shannon Sharpe saying that he's the only player in the HoF
That is the second best player in his family and the standing ovation given to Sterling was the highlight of the night for me. That was priceless
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
CSC M.
did you see the Ed Sabol intro and speech? Good stuff. They did a one-hour documentary about him on NFL Network. I watched it this afternoon it was FANTASTIC…

Why care about the inductions? What really matters about HOF weekend is that normally we’d have football tomorrow! …and at least this year we’ll still have it in about a week…
Are you ready for some football?
Faulk's a New Orleans boy and my wife is from St. Louis
Plus, we watch every year to hear the speeches – some interesting stories there.
Ed Sabol’s story and intro were fascinating.

These busts look NOTHING like the actual players
I would NEVER have guessed that was Deion Sanders.

Hans, Ed Sabol to me is a huge reason why the NFL is so huge. I mean no other sport has anything equal to NFL Films. ESPN used to on Sundays during football season show NFL films after Sportscenter from like 11pm-4am and I would stay up and watch. NFL Films drove the football to another level

yes, you are most wonderfully correct, sir
Did you get to see the one-hour special NFL Network ran about him this week? If not, then I ORDER YOU TO DVR IT STAT!!!
It was amazing.
He used to sell overcoats (family business) and kicked a** at it, then sold the business and started a film company. He is/was a total ham and started making amateur movies, then bid for the rights to film the NFL Championship for $5000 and WON! After winning the bid for the game a few years in a row, he convinced Rozelle to let him start NFL Films so he could do NFL filming full time.
The movie about him talks about how it grew and grew – (hollywood music, slow-motion, wiring players and coaches for sound, football follies, etc.) PRICELESS. I’m going to watch it again and then copy it for my parents and in-law parents it was so good.

from the nightly news to the NFL Films Annals

Sabol was the only inductee in whom I was interested. I’m gonna DVR that special. He truly did change the popularity of the sport.
