Preseason Predictions: Will the Saints Have a 1,000-Yard Rusher?

The Saints running game was a big reason the team was able to reach the Super Bowl back in 2009. But the injuries at running back last season left the Saints using a crop of free agent pickups and crippled the running game. During the off-season, however, the Saints front office has taken steps to help make sure that doesn't happen again by drafting Mark Ingram and signing Darren Sproles, to add to Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory, and possibly Joique Bell.

However, with multiple backs capable of toting the rock, and doing it effectively, will the Saints finally have a 1,000 yard rusher? Are the Saints going to ride Mark Ingram and let Pierre spell him, or vice versa? Are they just going to use Ivory on the goal line? What about Sproles? Surely he can't just be a third down back since he is probably one of the faster guys on the field.

So my question to you is this: will the Saints have a running back eclipse 1,000 yards in the 2011 regular season?

Again, the purpose of this post is to record everyone's predictions about the coming season. Then we can come back next season and laugh, cry, or both at what we predicted. Feel free to use this post as a springboard for any predictions or issues you think the Saints will have with their running game.

The results of last year's predictions are after the jump.

As you know, the Saints did not have a 1,000 yard rusher last year. Sadly, only 36% of the voters were correct, though the optimism is welcome.
