Sean Payton just said that the report of Garrett Hartley being out 8-10 weeks "is inaccurate"
Payton on Hartley report out 8-10 weeks: "that'd be inaccurate."
Payton on Kasay's third kick: "Thought that third kick was critical for his own confidence."
#Saints coach Sean Payton said reports of Hartley being out 8-10 weeks are inaccurate. We're reporting 6-8, per source.
Either way, it sounds like #Saints plan to keep two kickers until Hartley heals, so they don't expect to shelve him for season.
Payton didn't sound like he was going to put Hartley on IR.
Of course, things can always change.
Payton: "It always eats at you. It's the miscues. It's the sacks for a safety. It's the interceptions and fumbles. Those things bug you."
Payton on keeping 2 spots for kickers: " It's not tough. It's required. But you're right, when that happens, there's one spot less."
When asked about Hartley to IR possibility, Payton referred the 8-10 week out report & called it inaccurate. Said if it were accurate ...
...he would be putting Hartley on IR. But it doesn't sound like that'll happen according to Payton.
Kasay: "My job is to make kicks and that's why they brought me here. I didn't do a very good job tonight."
Kasay: "It's a bottom-line performance business and that's my job to perform. Missing two kicks - that's not good. "
