The problem is that for all his talent, Briggs seems to be getting in the news a little too often. This is the second time in a few years he’s whined about being with the Bears. He also trashed his Lamborghini on the freeway in a single car accident. Normally, I wouldn’t mind the Saints taking a guy that’s had a bad reputation elsewhere if they think he’d fit. I just have a bad feeling about this guy though.

He’d also be exceptionally expensive. The Redskins tried to trade for a first round draft pick for him previously. And part of the reason he wants out of Chicago is that he wants more money than the $6 million/year he’s making now. I don’t think the Saints can afford that. Brees isn’t the only one up for a big contract in the next year or two.
