The New Orleans Saints now advance to 2-1 on the season as they defeated the Houston Texans 40-33 in a nail biter featuring late-game heroics.
Drew Brees may be upset by his final stats on the day. Though he threw for 370 yards, he also threw two interceptions and had over 40 attempts. However, his 4th quarter performance was a thing of greatness. He led the Saints down field for two scoring drives, capping them both off with two-point conversions which were to Lance Moore on plays ripped straight from their Super Bowl playbook.
The Saints running game wasn't spectacular but it got the job done today, which is just enough when Brees is playing on this kind of a level.
The defense, however, has to be feeling like they did after the Packers game, allowing huge chunks of yardage to be gained by the Texans offense. Saints defenders were somewhat able to bottle up the run, which may have been helped by the Texans missing star running back Arian Foster.
Still, we can harp on the defensive woes later this week. For now, enjoy this great victory by the Saints. Make the jump for your post game thread and some stats. Click the picture for more from today's game.
