Accountability Index Update

Updated after the 53 man roster announcement.

Aug 15  2011

coldpizza

Mitch King will make the 53 man roster.

Good call.

May not seem like a stretch now, but on Aug 15 it was.

Aug 18  2011

Ralph

By week 5 the starting Saints o-line will be Bushrod/Brown at OT, Evans/Nicks at guard and Tennant at center.

Strief seems to be doing ok.  Kreutz can still catch his breath.  We shall see.

Aug 1  2011

bondcrash

Strief will give Stinchcomb a run for his money and start at RT

Stinchee is on the street.  Now Strief has to hold off Brown.

Jan 21  2011

bondcrash

OT Charles Brown is the starter by Sep 2011

He's got 4 games to make it and #1 is not looking good.

Aug 30  2011

coldpizza

Olin Kreutz won't make the final roster

Bad call.

Even on Aug 30th this was an ill-advised bet.

Aug 17  2011

stujo4

Leigh Torrence, Jeff Charleston and Pierson Prioleau will play at least a 2011 regular season down with the Saints

Prioleau is out already.

Aug 8  2011

jeff

Jimmy Graham's 2011 season will not be better than Shockey's 2009 season

jeff sometimes has these deep foreboding feelings.  I'm just here to report them.

Aug 3  2011

Northfan

Saints go 5-1 in division, lose @Tampa

15-1 blah blah

I smell purple drank.

Aug 3  2011

hansdat

Bucs will go at least 11-5 and push us for the division title

That would surprise me, but it would not shock me.  I think it might shock Hans, though.

Aug 28  2011

Jricky70

Saints sweep Bucs in 2011

Fingers crossed.

May 1  2011

GSO Saints Fan

The Falcons will begin a steep decline based on this draft.

Strictly a fact based prediction, I'm sure.

Aug 3  2011

hansdat

Atlanta will hit 9-7 (Julio will fail miserably, and Ryan will do worse than 2010 in passer rating)

Hans is one of those university types, and I fear that his eventual fate will run strangely parallel to Douglas Ginsburg's.

(Note to Mr Dave:  This is academia content, not political content.)

Sep 4  2011

FriarBob

I don't think the Foulclowns will even make the playoffs this year.

Even after 10,000 words, are you SURE this isn't rooted in emotions?

Aug 19  2011

Dan Kelly

Matt Ryan will NOT lead the league in TD passes, not even top 3, but maybe top 5

Dan's a hedger.  But he's still on the List.

Aug 4  2011

coldpizza

Tarvaris Jackson goes .500 in 2011 if he starts an even number of games greater than zero

Had to go make sure he made the 53 man roster.  Looks like a go to start game 1.

Aug 4  2011

stujo4

Tarvaris Jackson starts Game One in 2011

Like I said.

Aug 4  2011

Breesus Christ Superstar

Seahawks go under .500 in 2011

They've got Marshawn Lynch, Sidney Rice and Zach Miller.  Does that help?

Jul 31  2011

Preston J. Gary, Jr.

Plaxico Burress will probably start game one, and play a significant amount of snaps

Doesn't that say more about the Jets' crappy receiver corps (Santonio Holmes/Derrick Mason) than about Burress?  He's still pretty sore, we'll see.

Jul 13  2011

Preston J. Gary, Jr.

Jimmy Graham: 10 TD's in 2011

Wouldn't that be nice?

Jul 15  2011

coldpizza

Objects to Rotoworld's statement that Danny  Amendola will return as the starter in the slot.

Ok, but it's Gibson, Sims-Walker, Amendola as of today.

Apr 29  2011

were gonna need a bigger boat

Jeff Duncan

Louisville lovers love Johnny Patrick

Why is this on here?

He made the 53 man roster so I guess Gdub at least likes him.

Apr 29  2011

Jun 8  2011

xen-cuts

were gonna need a bigger boat

Andrew Juge

Ingram pick cost too much with too much risk.  Overrated, potential bust.

You guys can take this back and get off the List any time.  Just so you know.

May 1  2011

xen-cuts

Ingram scores only 2 to 4 TD's IF he makes the team.

Oh, he made the team.  And the other goal might be done in September.

May 1 2011

Hi_Fidelity

Ingram has injury concerns, may not have been the best running back prospect in the draft, and doesn't represent a great upgrade over Thomas/Ivory. and when you consider the price, it was a bad pick unless Ingram puts his butt in the Pro Bowl multiple times or keys another Super Bowl run.

He was the #1 rookie RB in fantasy drafts.  Does that count?

Jul 6  2011

coldpizza

stujo4

Ingram starts more games than Jordan in 2011

Keep an eye on NFL.com for updates.

Jul 12  2011

skinnykinney

Ingram DOES NOT start more games than Jordan in 2011

Well, somebody is wrong here.

Aug 31  2011

Satch

Jeff Charleston starts game 1 over Turk McBride and Cam Jordan

I'm thinking it's McBride.

Apr 28  2011

HansDat

Morstead and 2011 Saints will set NFL record for fewest punts and team record for 6 games without a punt

Good thing you weren't thinking about Hartley while chillin' in all that purple haze.

Apr 24  2011

MtnExile

Thinks our run game will be Top 5.

I think M-E was sober when he typed this.

Aug 15  2011

FuSoYa

Saints' offense will rank in the 12th to 18th range this season

May have hedged a bit too much here, buddy.  M-E thinks so, for sure.

Aug 16  2011

Aug 22 2011

Mr. Dave

MobileSaint

Devery Henderson is not going anywhere

I don't know about "anywhere" but he did make the 53 man roster.

Here's hoping for a career year.

Aug 3  2011

Aug 22 2011

cscmember

jricky70

cajuncommando58

Devery Henderson will be a surprise roster cut

Surprise!  He may have taken an undisclosed pay cut, but he made the final 53.

Mickey had Vicky do a quick pay back calc of $ per average yards per catch.

May 2  2011

coldpizza

Three NFC South teams with double digit win totals in 2011.

That means the NFL North and the AFC South will be taking some butt kickings this season.

Aug 19  2011

cajuncommando58

Saints are going to sweep the division.

NFC South!!!

 NFC South!!!

Aug 19  2011

BlackandGold4ever

Mike Vick will have a mediocre season and not make it back to the top 5 for MVP voting.

Encouraged by Vick's preseason stink, B&G thinks he's sitting pretty.

Aug 21  2011

stujo4

Lance and Meachem each have better seasons than Colston (better in 2 out of 3 categories: Receptions, yards, TD's)

Soured on #12.  Need to see fewer alligator arms and more catches in consecutive starts.

Aug 21  2011

EasyBreesy

Moore's season more likely to be better than Colston's than Meachem's as compared to Colston's.

I'm glad I don't have to decipher this until after the season is over.

Aug 24  2011

stujo4

Larry Johnson won't make the Dolphins' 53 man roster

BOOM

Truthfully, I was a little worried.  I guess they're going all in with Reggie.

Apr 28  2011

stujo4

Whoever drafts Da'Quan Bowers will see him balloon up during the inevitable rehab

I'm stupid and so is every other team for passing on him.  He's only missed one practice and is a potential starter.  Let's continue to monitor this one.

May 1  2011

were gonna need a bigger boat

Martez Wilson, not Mark Ingram, makes the biggest impact of all rookies this season.

He said this season.  Not this preseason.  Hold the catcalls.

May 2  2011

Northfan

Wilson probably has the best chance of our drafted rookies to win Rookie of the Year

Again, you can get off this List with some heartfelt retraction comments.  Any time.  I'm here during working hours, most nights and weekends.

May 4  2011

jray2000

Martez Wilson will be the best overall performer of our draft class

You guys, all I can say is BIG 10!!!  BIG 10!!!

May 2  2011

tommy

Junior Galette will be a starter this year

tommy represents a lot of Junior lovers out there.  I don't see it.

May 9  2011

coldpizza

2011 RB's:  Ingram, Thomas, Ivory, J Bell. Bush gets cut outright prior to training camp

Note the date.  Coldpizza's instincts were telling him something.  TUSK!!! is on PUP for 6 weeks but CP did not figure on Sproles.

May 4  2011

skinnykinney

TAYDIGGA

Ingram won't have more than 3 games with 13+ carries

Again note the date.  These numbers seem very low to me.

May 4  2011

coldpizza

Ingram will have 8 games with 13+ carries & 50%+ more rushing yards than teammates

And to coldP.

Jun 2  2011

jeff

Doesn't believe A Arrington will be a regular rotation receiver

In 2011

Like, he doesn't make the 46 man game day squad very often?  How about 3 games straight, is that "regular"?

Aug 30  2011

JohnnyRingo185

Prioleau and Scott Shanle will be cut prior to 53 man roster

JR is 1 for 1.

But Shanle may very well start for JohnnyRingo185's New Orleans Saints.

Aug 1  2011

tstuart77

Shanle plays SAM-and presumably starts

This CSC member is not me or related to me.  For the record.

Nov 2  2010

The over thrown would be TD pass to Strief in week 8 of 2010 indicates Brees' QB career peaked in 2009

Please read the assertion carefully and consider it before you see red.

Aug 28  2011

Mr. Dave

Drew Brees' best years are behind him

Same concept but with nice words to cushion the blow.

Jul 14  2011

Satch

Drew Brees will prove he is not in decline by throwing less than 10 interceptions and winning the league MVP award

It's called "Decline Denial" and Dr. Melphi treats it quite often.

Aug 24  2011

Acquired Panic

Drew Brees

is not declining or losing his focus.

He wears contact lenses, no?  As for the decline, the Amazon is not just an internet retailer.  Or something.  About rivers.

Aug 15  2011

SaintsFanInIraq

Drew Brees will throw 38 TD's and no more than 14 INT's this year

Even Semper Fi can't help him throw 38, I don't think.

Jul 14  2011

Satch

Pierre Thomas will lead the team for the season in rushing yards and rushing TDs

Satch went cold turkey off of INGRAMANIA!!!

Jul 14  2011

Satch

Darren Sharper won't play another snap for the Saints

Last vestiges of hope are fading.

May 14  2010

VAsaintsfan

Condemned Ricky Williams draft day trade, applauded Tebow draft day trade

Update:  34 year old Ricky is backing up Ray Rice in Baltimore and averaged 4.2 yds/carry last year.  Tebow is a 4th string QB in Denver with his only hope of an NFL career being a reunion with Josh McDaniel in St Louis or wherever Josh ends up next.  Contrast and compare amongst yourselves.

Very impressed with Shaun Rogers' career even before he became a Saint

That's nice.  tommy thinks he sucks and should have been cut.  See if you all can find some common ground.

Jul 2  2011

Preston J. Gary, Jr.

Shaun Rogers will make a big impact on defense for the Saints in 2011.

When I hear the word "big" with "Shaun Rogers", all I can think of is clogged toilets.  Sorry, but it is true.

Jul 11 2011

coldpizza

Shaun Rogers in 2011:  2-3 sacks tops

A cooler head may well prevail.

Jul 12  2011

coldpizza

At least two teams with a new starting QB will make the playoffs this year. At least one of those new QBs will be a rookie

Uh, Kevin Kolb and... I was going to say Cam Newton but that would be insane.  Coldpizza must mean Jake Locker, I think he's a big fan.  Christian Ponder and the Wikings?  Nah.

by AcquiredPanic on Sep 5, 2011 12:48 AM CDT reply actions

i'll go on record in support of shaun rogers

all i can think about him for the preseason was him pushing his guy back into the backfield to the RB but only being able to get 1 hand on him and not bring him down. If he could take down 1/2 of those 1 handed grabs he’ll be a huge upgrade.

Now that we have a 2011 season let's win the Superbowl!

by skinnykinney on Sep 5, 2011 12:55 AM CDT reply actions

That is a great observation

and I agree. He was getting great penetration, he just couldn’t get a good shot on the RB. That will probably change when the regular season starts. I have a feeling he wasn’t giving 100% in the preseason.

also on my prediction

could it be possible that we’re both wrong and neither starts a game? doubtful but possible. Also, I’m thinking they give Jordan a shot at starting while Smith is out.

I think CamJ will do very well on Thursday

We’re all gonna get excited after seeing him sack ARod twice and force a fumble. But the rest of his season will be relatively disappointing.

Stu, do you update all the Remarks every time?

This must take a considerable amount of time, and I thank you for doing it.

And for the record, I’d be surprised if any of my wild predictions pan out. I talk out of my a** a lot here for the sake of clever and funny.

I will again go on the record and vote for this as clever and funny and a wonderful therapeutic exercise in mental health and well-being.

this is about my honest opinion about my enjoyment of The List (and all the resultant linguistic and psychological implications: “duly Listed” and “what’s it going to take for me to get on the List?”, etc.)

And I would certainly say so if my opinion changes, or if the quality drops off, or drop the same praise/opinion on it if someone else was running this “List” show

And I stand by my “List-ing”: Failcons live up to that moniker this season – no post season for them.

This is definitely one of the better reads on here…although there is plenty of good material to choose from. It also helps to give some perspective to what some people say around here. That said, I’m still standing by my prediction for Vick. I was pretty tempted to pick the Cowboys over the Eagles for the division and still think they might pull it out. Maybe after a week or two, I’ll stick my neck out on that one.
