"Because of his stature, impaired downfield vision and need for ego-satiating stats..."
"... the complications of shortness — both physical and mental — leave him vulnerable."
"...because the television networks want you to believe you’re watching a once-in-a-lifetime performance. Drew Brees is Dan Marino and Bart Starr rolled into one tiny package!"

Even our biggest opponents would agree that the line about "ego satiating stats" is as far from Brees' personality as one can get.

-Lombardi was wrong...it's the internet, not fatigue that makes cowards of us all. But then again, what do you expect. Not like the guy could see the future.

Actually, that's pretty much exactly what many Atlanta and then Carolina fans said

after the last two regular season games. Oh, wait, you said “biggest opponents.” Not much opposition, was there?

This isn't about rules, it's about manners. Now there's no rule that says that I cant come over here and fart on your entree. But I don't do it. Why? Because it's not good manners.

OWWW! That made me LOL.

I do remember Drew...

finally admitting that breaking Marino’s record was VERY important to him….

Repeat? Run it!

Why have I never heard of this shining beacon of football analysis?

Oh, because he’s a jacka— with no analytical skills whatsoever. Got it.

Jason Whitlock, you are dead to me

Another blowhard who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. It’s not even jsut the Brees stuff, which after all is just blowhardery…it’s this sort of thing, too:

It was arrogant and foolish to walk up Pittsburgh’s safeties in zero coverage on the first play of overtime and dare Tebow to win the game. Pittsburgh corner Ike Taylor is taking too much of the blame for poor coverage and poor tackling. The scheme was just as responsible.

Whitlock loves to call out NFL personnel and “speak truth to power”—whether or not he’s right. That coverage was reverse cover 2…Mundy and Taylor swapped duties, and Taylor failed by allowing Thomas to get inside position on him. It wasn’t the scheme…it was execution. Even Mundy and Taylor admitted that. But Whitlock is too busy being smarter than the average bear to get his facts straight. As f’ing usual.

speaking of arrogant and foolish

Whitlock is one of, if not the, most arrogant sports writers I have ever read. He acts like he is the higher power allowed to decree justice as the end all be all of the football universe.

The Easter Bunny is a savage...

maybe its just me

but no defense should ever play cover-0, particularly in sudden death

This guy is a complete DOUCHE in every sense of the word

" I’ve never done drugs but I think watching Matty Ice stare blankly towards the field as Drew Brees kneels down while clock hits zero in a playoff game would be like doing cocaine off a strippers @$$#….yeah that good.
Yes my hatred for Atlanta is unhealthy/ possibly illegal" - Malbrough

"short stature both physical and mental.."

delusional.. wonder how many complete saints games he has ever watched.. maybe 3..
this is the guy that had us “finished” at least 4 different times in 2009.. maybe the consumption of crow stew has affected his perception permanently.. you figure he’d stay away from the the dog that almost bit his arm off, once..

It's almost in vogue for some of these so called journalists nobodies

to hurl an insult Brees’ way. Really, give me the Smartest guy over the Biggest/Strongest guy every time. I hope his Big Arse is still around to cover Brees’ Hall of Fame induction ceremony, I’ll be looking forward to reading that article.

Sensational headline (to grab attention)

little or no content within, or the body of the article has nothing to do with headline……..

Ok, honestly, this has to be the WORST article I have ever read
Top secret information? Is he serious? Sure Drew Brees’s height isn’t the most favorable, and yes he can be interception prone sometimes, but how the hell is this “top secret information”? As if we didn’t know these things already. Doesn’t stop him from being a total bada— though does it? How the hell did you find this a—clown journalist?

The guy was actually right... ONCE... a long time ago...

When he said that it was a travesty that Willie Roaf didn’t get in on his first ballot.

After that, I doubt he’s had an intelligent thought in his life since.

by FriarBob on Jan 11, 2012 12:15 PM CST reply actions

Although he DID manage to repeat the thoughts of other intelligent people in saying the illegal hits need to be penalized from the booth instead of the refs wasting time on it… and that other challenges need to be handled in the booth rather than that song-and-dance on the sidelines…

But he didn’t have those thoughts himself. He just parroted those with brains.

by FriarBob on Jan 11, 2012 12:22 PM CST up reply actions

i think he predicted the lebron/wade fall too, if i'm not mistaken..

but like i said earlier, he also predicted our fall several times in 2009.. after the dallas game, after the end of the regular season.. and before SB44..
