CSC Playoff Pick 'em - Divisional Round! Win a $5 McD's gift card on me!
PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO REC THE POST IF YOU'RE PLAYING. IT GIVES MORE PEOPLE A CHANCE TO GET IN ON THE FUN.
So most of you know the rules by now! Point values will be doubled this week as the picks should theoretically be harder to make, which also means that those who missed out on the game, or had a bad week last week still have an opportunity to catch up! So here are my picks and the format model you should follow! A deeper look at the rules, plus the standings below the jump!
8 points: Packers over Giants
6 points: Ravens over Texans
4 points: Saints over 49ers
2 points: Patriots over Broncos
Everyone makes picks on the games that they were early enough to play for. Once a certain game starts, the picks for that game are locked and no one can make any picks on it. You must assign up to four confidence points to each of your picks in descending order of confidence. So for example, if you're most confident that the Saints will beat the 49ers you'd assign that game eight points. For your next most confident pick, you're taking the Patriots over the Fighting Tebows, so you'd assign that game six confidence points and so on. Everybody with me? Refer above to my picks for a guide on format. Cool. And take note here, that the point values will go up as we get deeper into the playoffs, so you're never out of it!
I've got a five dollar McDonalds Gift Card with the winner's name on it! No entry fee! So come on and get your picks in!
Last week we had sixteen total players winning a total of 88 out of a possible 148 points (taking away points missed by late entries). Players were most confident in the Saints giving them an average of 3.78 confidence points. Players were least confident in the Lions, giving them zero. The Broncos hurt the most players by defeating the Steelers.
Standings as of Wednesday.

So come on! Get those picks in and rec this post to send it to the top so more people will have a chance to play!

Can you make a pick with the highest total points allowed for each game. For example all games you pick the winner and your confidence points for all games be 8?

No. Sorry. It has to follow the scale of the model.
In that situation I’d accept the first one listed, and set the others to “no pick”. You could always come back later (as long as that game hadn’t kicked off yet) and change it. Think of it as having four tokens to play on four games where you can only use one token per game. You have an 8 point token, a six point token, a four point token, and a two point token.
The point is to show which games you have MORE confidence in strategically.

JWS?
How will the point totals work next week with only two games? Just curious.

18, 12.
For a total of 30, and then 30 for the Super Bowl with a tiebreaker.

Could we get double points if we predict next weeks winners (NFCCG/AFCCG) and triple points for predicting the Super Bowl?
I forgot to say… “now” at the end of that sentence.
as in, if we pick them before this weeks game, could we get big bonuses?
I like that.
But, if you’re team didn’t make it to the CCG/SB, you couldn’t repick for that week.

It's a cool idea, but a little late to implement it.

maybe you want to do that in the first round only…
meaning, you have to make your future picks before the wildcard weekend… that way, the risk is huge – but so is the payout
I like that.
Am I the only one who kind of wishes it were already next season? I love football.

Not sold on the 49ers as a team either. Coin-flip for me.

Heh
I really don’t know what’s going to happen in the Saints-49ers game. That’s why my confidence points are so low for that game; would have been that way either way I picked.
