Injury Update - Harper with a High Ankle Sprain?
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Saints SS Roman Harper is dealing with a "significant" ankle injury.
It sounds like a possible high ankle sprain. Harper must have suffered the injury late in last Saturday's win over the Lions. It's "a new one," reports beat writer Jeff Duncan, "and it's significant." Harper is one of the league's better in-the-box, run-support safeties, so his absence would be major against San Francisco's run-first offense in the Divisional round.

I think it came late in the game
I saw Harper standing up on the Lions’ sideline after a tackle late in the game and he looked to be in pain. No one said anything about it until now, so I was hoping it wasn’t serious. Looks like that hope isn’t going to pay off. I hope he can manage to play. We’ll definitely need him in run support and on blitzes.

If we wind up losing another playoff game because of Harper
…well, I don’t know what. Damn. Not his fault, but just…damn.
"Sinn Féin, motherf*****s!"
At least this time it might be because of NOT having him, rather than him playing but not being able to tackle…

this is a rumor.. the CBS twit reporter started the high ankle sprain thing..
and duncan just said it was a “significant injury”
a high ankle sprain occurs from a abnormal torsion or bending of the ankle to the interior..
typically can be associated with tibia and/or fibula fractures.. it certainly would put you on a huge brace (rottenburger) for a few days with zero walking..
i think harper banged up his ankle.. maybe just a simple sprain.. it happened on a tackle out of bounds on #81..
i’m thinking it may be possible for him to suit up..
Yeah but will he be able to play WELL? (At least by the sliding scale those who aren’t “haters” would use for him?)
If he can’t, he shouldn’t suit up.
We won't know if he can play well or not until he is actually out there playing.
If he can suit up I say go ahead and see what he can do on the first series he’s out there.
" I’ve never done drugs but I think watching Matty Ice stare blankly towards the field as Drew Brees kneels down while clock hits zero in a playoff game would be like doing cocaine off a strippers @$$#….yeah that good.
